My Strat

17065473.FenderwoStrings.jpg

This is my beloved Fender Custom Shop '54 Stratocaster fitted with Lindy Fralins. This Strat has been modded with a Tone knob at the bridge pup and the middle tone knob for the Neck. I previously replace the bridge pup with a HS2 assisned to a push push pot to deactivate one of the coils. I've since replaced it with the original Lindy Fralins but have an update mod of implementing a "Tele" mini toggle switch that activates both the Bridge and Neck pups together to get Tele twang when I need it.

OT: I'm still dreaming about that Triamp....
:D

Heh you are not alone! :) I'm still restless over the thought of what the Triamp MKII can sound like if the MKI is already so versatile and yet no slouch on any of the 6 channels of "molten gold" tone. :)

Thor, there's also another important difference you should note about the Pacifica 912J. Mine were from the mid 90's and they're equipped with the "Locking Bridge and Nut" system. The later version of Pacifica 912 were chaged to the more traditional strat style bridge and nut.

I just noticed. Am leaning towards the Floyd Rose versions. I spotted a nice sky blue Pacifica online while googling (and it's for sale!) but it's the traditional strat bridge... owner says it's early 90s. not too sure... MIT... but I wish it were FR instead.

6 Channels of overflowing tones....mmm.

Know of a band where both guitarist used the MKII and heck I think I read somewhere they only used 3 channels out of that beast.

The '54 Strat reissue and Custom Shop have their differences but mostly in the choice of wood for the neck and body. Also for the Custom shop you get to choose the weight...lighter is better in this case. The American standards and thereafter variations of it with their wider necks sound ok to me but they just don't feel right for me. With the custom shop basically as long as you're willing to pay they'll make it possible for you. Actually some of the cheaper Mexican made and even the Squires can can feel and sound good too ya. :)

Yup!!! I bid for a 54 Custom shop strat though. Not a re-issue.

So how much did the bid end at?

These days it's either pay through your nose for a hard to come by real Vintage '54, '57 or '64, pay Custom shop to build u an exact replica down to the exact dimensions, weight, wood, finish and screws or be happy with a Reissue.

Hey, I see the pics. Don't u?

Damn these power Caps! I'm getting an afro! Arrrrgh!I gotta go!

The bid start at USD$975. It ended at USD $1800. I was at the last 5 secs & i made another bid. Some dude was a heck faster than me & he won it. From what the pics shown, it was 'clean' with hardcase & cert of authencity.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what do you mean by having flat eq on an amp or on an EQ pedal? I'm using a multi-efx and I want it to do all the work without having to rely on amp settings. I tried switching the gain to 0 on my amp and turning the gain way up on my pedal but there's little sound unless i turn up the gain on my amp.

The korg ax30g pedal just has way too many settings, really gets my mind in circles, despite the manual.

Thanks!:)
