Rack/enclosure for amp head

Need help on this. Looking to put my amp head into a box to carry around, so it has to be durable, can hold the weight of the amp. Posted and asked on Misse before, and did my research, so I know there's 2 places I could go to to make a custom box, namely:

My amp is 12.5in by 9in by 8 in (31cm by 23cm by 21cm). So I need something slightly bigger than that, with foam cushions on the sides at least.

Any other suggestions from other forummers? Much appreciated.

DIY.

There are plenty of pine wood available at Ikea.

Ceriatone is worth a try, I'll go email them and see how.

DIY is possible. I'm afraid the wood might split from the weight though.

Flightcase - I actually did think of those :wink: still looking around for something that's suitable though. The Frenzel amp is rather squarish on the ends and rectangular on the length, so something that is around that size is a little hard to find.

nahh.... don't underestimate the wood. but your joints must be good though.

Glue, Nails and internal bracing.

Do a little search online. Remember there's a forum about cabinet making or something like that. Same rules applies for joints.

i think you can go find one of those leather trolley bags that those door to door sales men use?

you can mod the insides to cushion your amp.
theres wheels so you can pull it around if you need.
go up stairs etc is just retract the handle and lift.

i bought mine for 15bucks at cash convertors.

hehe. anyway i think i'll go down Ikea and have a look at the pine woods. i dont have the forum link but i do have http links - even better in that sense, cos it's pretty step by step. Will also email Frenzel and Ceriatone.

DOMKE??? Very classic, very nice... but very OVERPRICED.

maybe a cheaper option like Lowepro will do the job better if he opts for a photographer's bag.
