Project Strat-suggestions

Wait till you see my project... 3 humbuckers, bladed 2 point wilkinson trem, 9.5" radius, medium jumbo frets, RW with qtrsawn neck, CBS headstock, blck nitro finish and matching headstock, 3lbs body, treble bleed push pull, and coil split...

AND a Squier logo on the headstock...

:twisted::twisted::twisted:

Eh. An LP Jr would move me lar. :D

But that's why you bring the guitar to a tech/lutheir to assemble/setup for you....

If you want everything readied for you - then maybe go Carvin or something.

ok guys, how about this:

2007 American Fender Stratocaster Strat DELUXE BODY USA - eBay (item 190189734093 end time May-10-08 15:56:21 PDT)
Deluxe body, not sure if USACG do a contour neck.

This one looks lightweight, and I would prefer to get a body with all the holes drilled, as USA dont drill the holes for you(i could see this being a big problem for me)

Another thing is that they dont precut and install the nut, which is going to be a hassle:(

The holes are already pre-drilled. This is for the 2 pt trem, not the vintage 6 screw ones.

Get a nut cut from Malcolm + setup and assembly, will be around $500?

thanks guys.

this may be getting out of hand, unfortunately. Perhaps one day when I have the motivation and dollars to do a proper slay guitar I will go ahead with that.

for now then I think I will get a Highway 1 body, warmoth neck(with nut all precut installed, and then all I have to do is get someone to drill the tuner holes for me.) I will use my noiseless in there for a while and see how that goes..

Do you recommend that I bolt in the neck myself?

Sorry for the disappointment though guys, i think this will be the most cost effective solution, though should be a decent guitar I hope.

imho, LEARN how to DIY is the best option. It may or may not be the best option but its sure a good learning experience.

I've discovered and learnt many things when I was messing around with my KVLT 69 terecaster project(which till now is NOT completed yet) but I will use these new techniques on other guitars.

I would love to, but, Ive spent way too much time gassing over gear and gear mods you have no idea haha, Im impatient and will no doubt screw something up with a project, I can just see it happening, best to spend my time playing instead, ahh sighs, btw where did you learn all this stuff from, books or just experience?

in the past it was books and when StewMac had those printed catalogues...
now with the internet, you can even make bombs if you follow the instructions carefully...

DIY trains patience. GAS? who doesn't? Screw ups? It happens all the time, and its only thro mistakes that we learn more. But only you know yourself best lah....

buy buy buy!

heh, perhaps theres secret admirer lurking out there who love to have your sig guitar replica and sleep with, grinding somewhere with it everyday, thinking its you, beside them
