Here's my entry for May..a double humbucker black Strat

Allparts 70s headstock with rosewood neck
Mighty Mite ash body
Tonedrive Locking tuners
Tusq graphite nut
Roller string tree
Wilkinson trem bridge
Tesla Extreme neck and bridge humbuckers
1 vol, 1 tone pots with orange drop
Tonedrive 3 way switch
HSH pickguard with empty black SC cover to cover up middle hole..heh..

Sounds great and this thing stays in tune well no matter how much I whammy on this fella..

eieio - can u do up my ibanez with this type of finish?

Nice, any particular reason why this specific design?
Color scheme? or in relation to Max & Einstein scientific contexts?

Dear all,

Just got fax from ceo, on behalf of Pgotm:
Due to work schedule + gaza fotzilla crisis & our beach cleaning in chiplak Java
May 2010 modd focus entries will be forwarded & combined together with June 2010 project entries.

Maybe we can have more mystery prizes for mid year bi-monthly Pgotm?

Got me a black HSS pickguard to replace the mintgreen one on my American Strat.

Had to break out my Dremel to route the humbucker opening slightly as a covered humbucker won't fit perfectly. I did the replacement of the pickguard without removing the electronics as it is a massive PITA to desolder and resolder, especially the Control X blender circuitry. Will need to make another run to Peninsula on Saturday as I forgot to get black screws and black single coil covers yesterday.

And yes, no tone pot. Does anyone know where to get a spacer to plug up that hole?

The colour combination looks great, if I may say so myself! Ignore the parchment single coils for now.

Only certain Fender models come standard with lsr rollers, yours came stock?
A suggestion for the hole, can put a dummy phase switch if you have any lying around.

Yeah, the LSR is stock on mine. The only production models that come with them are the HSS American Deluxes IIRC.

I'm stuck with my project now. Anyone knows the easiest way to check and level frets? Im just going to pull a string over and just file down any fret that buzzes.

I see.. dodgethis, that's a nice feature esp. on the maple neck

& speaking of American deluxe anyone know any shops here stock replacement Fender pivot bridge insert studs/screw?
I've bought a set from Schaller(1st pic) but they are a little bit bigger, Fender screw is smaller(2nd & 3rd pic)..
If I use them, will this affect the bridge pivot knife edge contact/play?

First electric? cool my first electric was a mij aria passed down from someone but has disintegrated along with the hard case

both guitars look like candidates for modding.

mij aria good stuff.. you can try salvage & refurbish it? same scenario as mine.. bones/csi mode
these old strats wood got mojo, I got new guits but dunno why always keep coming back to them..

Feeling damn fail now. Wasted nine bucks on black single coil covers that cannot fit my Vintage Noiseless single coils. Either I get the proper ones (which are almost impossible to find on the web now) or I change to Dimarzio Areas in black. Anyone interested in buying these pickups and/or black single coil pickup covers?
