i recently changed my black fender's pickguard from white to black.
But now i notice that my guitar has a buzz when i touch the strings. this is weird cos to my understanding if theres a grounding problem, the buzz stops when the strings are touched not the opposite.any clues? newbie here

erm, is your guitar properly set up? if not, i suggest you go and look for Beez. he's a pro :D and did you change the pickguard yourself?

poor grounding or no grounding is prolly causing this issue.

Beez will rectify the issue for next to nothing! you might wanna get it set-up by him at the same time.

Let me guess. The original white pickguard has some metallic film on the back at the controls while the black one does not?

It's probably a shielding issue...

its not about grounding. what does changing pick guards do to grounding?

agree with whitey: maybe the shielding. aluminium foil?
