I am unhappy with the condition that my guitar came actually ... the frets were rusty-ish, one humbucker not which missed a spring and so not screwed properly, strings oso like been on the shelf for 10 years ... The bridge was also rusty ready ... But i like the guitar enough to actually not mind all the flaws ... But now i so sad trying to fix it ..

Was this thread useful? Why/ Why not?

Dont worry, you're not alone. Its a sale come' on brother. Things like this happen. Old strings ... dirty frets ... buzzing strings ...
relax ...

To SUB: Yes it was! Allowed me to swiftly change my mind on getting the SZ instead of an Epi LP Custom, and i've got to admit i do not regret making that decision cos the Epi is thrash compared to the SZ.. IMO again.. :)

Everything on the guitarist's hands are thrash if he can't play ma.
Hey how much you bought for the SZ. Power leh...

No la, with all due respect to the Epi LP Custom, i just felt that i liked the feel of SZ better than the Custom, in other departments as well.

Well, Adam was funny. He asked me, "Bro how much is it again ar?" I told him, "500 bucks". Then he was like, "Eh you sure ar, don't cheat me."

Haha.. didn't have the heart to cheat him la, since he was so nice and all helping out. Yar i paid 500 bucks for a brand new one, must unwrap from the box one.

Yeah, but i guess we shouldnt take the whole amount of the blame, i mean what difference would it make if it was a sale or not? Selling people a defective item is still just that. I'm not saying i want swee lee to give me a refund or anything, im just saying what i feel. But anyone know if i can ask them to check out the buzzing? it's pissing me off immensely....

this thread is definitely useful. when you have been there and see everything as a whole, you get a clearer picture.

a guy bought a LP standard and the list price was $5500 before discount. but i am very sure that on a normal day when i was at swee lee a LP standard cost only $4800... just curious why there is a mark up...

and most of the sale items in the high end area really looks 2nd hand... the last sale at their warehouse, alot of guitars in their high end area were in used shape... definitely not show room condition. I am curious as a non 2nd hand dealer, where did all these come from?

please don't mistaken that i am trying to undermine the sale. there are really good bargains, but what i am saying here is that some things are really questionable.

well they are display items, and some of the ibanezs, i saw were as old as 1997 models, thats y theyre having the sale anw, to clear out these old stock

This thread is definitely helpful.

1. Acts as a central repository and reduces unnecessary duplicated threads
2. High relevancy in content and improves time efficiency
3. Acts as a one stop thread for, not only forumers, but also to other relevant personnel related to the sales (as a feedback which could improve in their customer service mgmt...)

yeah .. it allows 1st hand info to flow.

Its been great, one of the events all the musicianz and get together and talk coc* sing song before buying their stuff =)

oh is it?sry didn't know i mailed sweelee and they told me that. What are the selected guitars by the way?

You know. Sub did us a TREMENDOUS help here... and he's asking for some comments.... Pls give what is due.

There were a lot of queries here and many SOFTies went to the sale, and relying on Sub's recommendations, got stuff that rocked.

Now, show some love! I can't believe Sub asks for something now, and the response is SO POOR. And guys, you can even carry on your discussions on what, poor quality, which is not relavant to this thread!

I say, thank the MAN and show your gratitude. All buy already stuck with the guitar cannot post on SOFT ah? :?

Bizzynick, go down and see for yourself.

Aye aye...
kudos to sub for his wealth of input to this forum

Soft has really grown alot since it first began, i'm proud to be a member of this community.

While there will always be some forumites who are bigger contributors than others, the least we freeloaders can do is make the acknowledgement to those who deserve it.

To sub, shredcow, etc who are constantly giving us advice or writing gear reviews, i salute you guys on behalf of the slient majority who, like most singaporeans, just wants to take but not give back in return.

subby really did help everyone here alot.... he also help me out in one way or another........

i guess everyone in the forum would like to thank him.......

although in the end i didn't bought the guitar that i ask subby for review, but he did realli clear my mind on certain models...

lastly...

I WOULD LIKE TO THANKS SUBBY BIG TIME FOR THE HELP EVER SINCE I USE THIS FORUM. ALTHOUGH HIS MOVES IS ALREADY BEYOND THE WORD OF "THANKS". HE WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED GUY IN MY HEART AND IN SOFT.... "SUBBY WE SALUTE U"

apologies for missing this query- for me, WORK has begun to set in already. pre-new year lethargy kicking in... Red Bull doesn't do wonders for me either.

they didn't reveal which models would be available in greater quantity for the sale, it's part of the surprise.
