Hi friends, just checking how strong/ ready the demand for a non-Fender style doublecut guitar body shape is. hope you take time to vote + share why you like/ dislike odd body shapes- thanks!! 8)

hmm no offence, but I always got the feeling that models like "flying v, explorer, iceman, warlock and so on" abit too metallish. It give me the impression that heavy players or metal players uses that, not really well suitable for a lighter player. Almost all my friends have the same feeling, also they felt that its too extreme

it's a matter of preference, really. the metals guys are at it solely because the sheer outline commands presence. however, this doesn't deter players like the Edge/ Albert King (among others) from playing the Explorer/ Flying V respectively- they are clearly aren't metal proponents 8)

Yo sub. I personally have a big thing for flying v's. IMHO jackson ones are much cooler than the gibson ones XD

Ibanez Iceman guitars with the Ibanez Edge trem. Ridiculously sexy. Hell, even the fixed bridge version would do!

I love the shape and how it can actually handle a lot more than what its shape depicts. :P

+1

especially the RR version- the offset design is simply thumbs up! howeverm they remain practical for strap-on use more than sitting down 8)

i'm for the Warlock/ Ironbird/ Kelly/ Iceman/ Explorer shapes simply because they work both strapped on + sitting down.

That is such a big issue. Like that Jackson Rhoads in G77? Uber cool for metal but IMPOSSIBLE to play sitting down.

in 1984, 1st guitar i bought by my savings, was a japanese Epiphone Flying-V. would love to get hold of a V for work.

G77 brings in rhoads? oh my, i must be a mountain tortoise on that. i have to check it out since i'm planning to import rhoads from US through swee lee.

well, it's not totally i'mpossible to play rhoads while sitting down. well it's kind of hard to explain how to play the rhoads while sitting down. when there's a will, there's a way.

yes- the V's gap can accomodate one of your thighs but it still feels awkward, especially one one tries to play & battle a neck dive. the last time i auditioned a V, i had to strap it on, even sitting down... :smt035

Definately... if you had a hole in your thigh to accomdate the instrument cable sticking out of the input jack which is located in the most retarded position: Where your thigh is. :D

But yeah lah, you could play it sitting if you strapped it high....

Man, that would be awkward.
The Rhoads is saying that it's a performing axe, not meant to be played sitting down!

for me.. bc rich beast!!! or as shredcow said, iceman with an edge trem... damn... or mayb the esp axxion.. that would be pretty cool...
