Hi friends,

I'm totally new to piezo bridges and I'm considering installing a piezo bridge on my Gretsch G5122DC. Any softies have any experience in this and recommendations on a compatible piezo bridge for it?

Will a bigsby bar be a problem with piezo's?

i would definately go for the graphtech GHOST system over the LR Baggs or Fishman systems.

the graphite saddles will reduce friction and aid in tuning stability when you use the bigsby. i've got graphtech (non piezo) saddles on my Gretsch 6120, and it stays in tune like a champ when i use the bigsby.

go for the passive kit, it's much easier to install on a hollowbody. control the piezo signal with an outboard EQ or preamp.

i'd use one of the controls as a piezo volume control.

KC Tan at Maestro/Zen Guitarworks has experience installing the GHOST system on hollowbodies and is imho the best person for the job

PS: do be aware that you may need to route a small channel on the bottom of your bridge pickup ring for the piezo wires to run through. it's not a drastic mod though, pickup rings can be easily replaced.
