Here are some pics from a small get together a few of us had today at Fourtones. Held at Fourtones studio, we had the privilege of booking their nice facilities. Nice Randall cab in the big room for sure. That Randall head is pretty damn good too if I don't say so myself!

I apologize in advance for the quality for some pics, the lighting in the studio ain't all that good for photo taking. I only managed to kick it into slightly more usable settings toward the end. Well without further haggling...

The trio of Beautiful John Suhrs, from left to right - Jireh's aka. Pentatonic Suhr Bengal Burst Custom, Nanoshred's Bahama Blue Pro Series, Ed's Faded Denim Custom Standard.

Tone reports on the Suhrs, Jireh's Suhr is simply awesome. I remember ogling over it the first time he posted pics here on the forums. Remember that pic with that digital clock in the background? The guitar has a really good rhythm tone, I could spend days on end jamming out funk riffs! The silent single coil system is a amazing for sure! Great guitar, lots of nice meat on the neck, singing tone and really good definition!

Brandon's Pro Series, crazy looking top for a guitar at this price. The maple neck provides a lot of definition as well as bite. I simply love the tone in the bridge humbucker really great in your face rock tone. The Even C Slim neck shape is fast as hell. Lovely!

Ed's Faded Denim Custom...wow. Simply wow. If the finish alone does not get you, my friends; the tone simply will. Thick juicy fat tones. I love this guitar! Plus the neck has loads of meaty grips in all the right places. Just like Jlo!

Next the battle of the Historic R7 Goldtops!

On the left is Chamin's R7, and Fenderben's R7 Dark Back.

I love these guitars to the core. I've never tried better Les Pauls than what Gibson is currently offering in their line of historics. There's just no substitute. Chanmin's goldie is loaded with Burstbuckers and Fenderben's with WCR pickups.

Ben with his Goldie among the Suhrs.

Amplification was also provided courtesy of Chanmin who brought his Ceriatone Overdrive Special aka. Dumble clone. Wonderful amp really, I only wish I had the chance to check it out through another speaker cab. But the speaker cable on the Randall cab was not long enough. Sadness.

The amp sounded killer on it's own, combined with a Bjf Dynared it was KILLERER!

Brandon again putting my newly acquired Washburn N4 (Thanks Ah Jay!) through its paces.

Drummerfromhell.jpg

On the rhythm section we had Chanmin, Singapore's fastest drummer keeping us in time, on time!

Jokes aside, thanks to Chanmin, Ben, and Jireh for stepping up and taking on Bass and Drum duties. I know, I can't play bass to save my life despite my hybrid impersonation of Bootsy colins and Les Claypool. Btw Jireh's a killer drummer, multi talented!

Of course nothing would complete this with out a group photo.

damn the gathering was awesome. both amazing and humbling experience. the music was good and the bonus of such cool company was what made the event as such one of my all time fav jams.

btw chris can really play. chris i was wondering if ure giving lessons cos im really interested, serious.

Bro thanks for coming down man, nice to see you again and finally play together! You got a really nice Suhr, I'm honored to finally try it after drooling after so long! Damn nice.

I'm always learning man, slowly man; we will all improve together! :D

In the meantime you can always find Brandon, he gives me mini lessons every now and then, he really knows his stuff!

Today hor, i cummed all over the room in Fourtones. But honestly, as an official LP hater as you guys know me to be......both Ben and Chanmin's Historics today were honestly the nicest ones that i have the privilege to play, and seriously good tones for once. And Ben is 1 good bassist in his own right too, thanks for helping out to hold the fort to let us all indulge in the guitars :)

About the 3 Suhrs, if i can simplify my description about them.....

Nanoshred's - Sort of Kotzen/Kollman vibe about that whole guitar, spanky and tight tones with lots of clarity

penta-tonic's - A versatile guitar which can sit in any sort of music situation

Mine - A rock machine like what Souljah said, thick juicy tones

The Washburn custom shop N4 is truly a special piece too, not quite like the ones i've tried before at Sweelee........it must be seen and played in person to know the difference rather than from all this talk. Made me had serious gas for 1, that i even asked Souljah's what's the damage to the pocket for 1 LOL!

But bottom line is, it was really a great time today with everyone. Some long time friends, some new ones but everyone hit it out fine on the start and get go. Today was also the 1st time i see Chanmin so threatening and yet so hilarious on drums, i nearly laughed my bladder off XD

Actually the focus is on the tiger striped carpet hanging on the wall, it exudes that 80s feel that all of us are looking for

It matches my underwear too!

Jokes aside, I had a great time; really.

No expectations whatsoever, just pure fun; been a long time since I've seen such great energy filling a room.

yes.. i actually paused for a nano second to smile into the camera... if not you would'nt be able to see my face.. cus i was drumming SO FAST.

Good gears ...very tasty R7 ben has... the WCRs made a big difference ... all the suhrs .. basically ibanez RGs with flametops lor... haHaHaAH
i kid i kid... i must say... suhrs are very very nice guitars... they sounded crap in my hands la... but in their owner's hands .... fooh.

Good fun guys... nice meeting Bran , Chris , ed , KX and Jireh again after such a long time

... must do this again soon. And the next time must include alcohol.

eh chanmin, can i come over and try ur amp again? u know i think im gonna get one. ill ditch my board for that. ill just save the kotb for need of metal-esqe high gain but man i could live off just the tone from that amp of urs.

yeah man. inspires real deal gas. i havent really dabbled with such good tone in a long while. wasnt doing my suhr any justice at all.

Guys, so sorry man couldn't join in...zun zun got wedding dinner last night. Your guitars all look absolutely stunning. Can have one soon again?!?!? Ed nmind, dangerous is still good! Live life on the edge man...

Next time we get an even larger couch so we can put more guitars!

btw just to echo, the historics are seriously the best les pauls i've ever tried. Nothing like the LP standards churned out these days.

PS: Chanmin, your drummer pic...so cute sial...

According to the post.. ChanMin's..
Sexy eh? But I head Ceriatone stuff breaks apart over time.. Cheap components I think.. Any problem with it bro?
