Recently bought and sold quite a bit of gear, but ive never been more satisfied with what i have now., have something in the mail which will put the finishing touches to my puzzle, got the right guitars for what im doing, got the right pedals, got the right amp. or maybe amps. i will have my full rig soon and plenty of pics to come with it. hope ill get to post!!

I never thought I'd do this...

But I'm glad I did. My first Gibby...

It was nice. The neck was killer, and the fretboard is pleked. It's also the ONLY non Custom-shop current release that comes with a long-neck tenon and is not chambered... Why is this so?

Because it belongs to this guy:

And the best bit?

It comes in my favourite LP colour of all time:

AND has no pre-screwed pickguard! Which I like!!!

For the price I got this for, and limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide, I'd say it's a steal!!! Heheheheh...

That neck profile is something else... Shaped like a 50s, but as thin as a 60s... wow...

Heh... that's skull should fetch a nice price in the market in the future... Considering it's more limited than the Slash Standard. (1,000 pcs vs 1,600 pcs)

And did you know, this was the SAME specs for the SAME LP used in November Rain and some other hits which was stolen. Gibson apparently rebuilt this one based on those orginal specs. Also, the neck carve is unique. It's also the LAST non chambered body for 2008, and the ONLY one with a long neck tenon.

"This is a new Les Paul that Gibson is launching today, actually. It's basically a replica of a guitar I used for years. I got it from Gibson. It was 1991 so it was a brand new, off the showroom floor Goldtop and I used it for all these epic songs with these long sustained note guitar solos like "November Rain," "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," "Sweet Child of Mine" and a couple other songs like the Godfather theme. Anyhow, it was just this amazing sounding guitar, very well rounded. What I loved was I'd take the tone off the rhythm pick up, turn it all the way down, do these solos and it was just sustained for days. There was no real pick attack because you turned the tone down so you just got this creamy sound. I loved it. In 1998 I was hanging out watching a movie with a friend and realized I was missing all this stuff. My guitar tech came back all white, like, "All your guitars are gone." It was unreal. Like something out of a bad dream. Slowly but surely over the years I got the guitars back and the only one I didn't get back was the Goldtop. So finally I went to Gibson and said, "Can you guys look up the specs on the 1991 Goldtop?" And they did and they built me one. They thought it would be a good idea to make a Slash model."

As for my balls weeping in a corner? Nah... I took this bad baby to a jam session yesterday. It sounds farking good. Killer tone. Awesome sustain. Works very well with a Keeley MT2!!! heheheh...

But it's so darn heavy, I think that's the LAST time I'll ever take it out to a jam session. The only other time I'd do that is if I needed it in a gig. Heh.

Oh... but it nails his solo tone spot on man...

But I think my Silo Spec in HSS is still the one!
