shit man, that doesnt seem normal if u upkeep well leh. looks like coffee stains haha. but its ok la, the goldtop distracts everyone from the tarnish..it looks perfect.

Tunings gonna be a b*tch..

Why would that be? A well slotted nut and some already well slotted saddles (or maybe a graphtech replacement?) should help. This thing comes with pretty high end Gotoh hardware anyways. ABR-1 bridge. Not the Gibson Nashville, so there's only one point of contact: the saddle. (which is why I wouldn't put a bigsby on my USA Standard).

is this official?

Not really. Just forum rumblings and the PIO claps with Antiquities they dumped in there... That plus the vintage correct neck pitch angle lie what you find on Historics. Seems they tried their very darnest to make it as vintage correct as possible. Including the neck carve, which is a 59 roundback, as opposed to the LP98s with a more modern 50s or 60s carve.

Yup. I bought a Faber locking ABR-1 to replace that tone sucking roller bridge. Had to buy the conversion studs also cos it was formerly a Nashville bridge. I figured since the ABR-1 is narrower than the Nashville, there won't be an extra friction point in the edge of the bridge. I was right. The Faber locking ABR-1 bridge made me believe in hardware changes. My tone improved drastically. I mean drastically. My guitar sounded clearer, even had a twang to it, and improved sustain.

Good point on the tuning issue there. Most people dont take into account such factors and for the sake of appearance a variety put on the bigsby. Dunno since i've only 1 lespaul i'll think twice before drilling some holes :)

My VOS R7 pick ups has tarnished badly, I didnt do anything to it, and it was pretty well maintained. :(

Wow never seen a pickup cover tarnish that quickly on a VOS. Looks pretty bad to me, but strangely the ABR and stop tail still looks fine. Maybe try posting it over at MLP.

Gibson had manufactured their hardware to give that tarnished manifestation over time. despite how well taken care these hardware are, one simply can't bring it back to its glossy beginnings with polishing fluid. i've since treated mine with simple cleaning/ wiping, bringing it back to its glorious shine is out of the question.

It's VOS right? The tarnishing is meant to happen. I wish mine became tarnished like yours. Heh....

yep.
its a VOS R7
strangely, the pick up sounds very nice, and sounded a little different (better) from my friend's R8 with the same pick ups.

a setup perfect while practicing in a uni hostel room, 5w bugera vintage 5 tube amp, fender mex 60th anniversary strat , nice tube warmth achieved under relatively manageable volume, amazing sounding top end clarity for a tiny 8 inch speaker, cant expect much for its low end though......

I got this strap about a month back, only decided to take some pics just now.

I'm so in love with these hippie ace style straps. All my favourite guitarist wore ace straps so it's only natural I would want one too. Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, Eric Clapton. Current users of Hippie straps are Paul Gilbert, Richie Kotzen and Doug Aldrich.

I'm gonna get myself this:

They are way too addictive and I know I won't stop at 2 straps. I want them all!
