new guitar... wish it wasn't black.
haha yeah man! plain black gets boring after a while. that's the problem with all the non prestige ibanez 7 strings! they are all only offered in plain back! bummer, guessing it's because black's a rather "safe" colour to market these guitars

Ok. Digging out old threads. My short trip to Japan and this is what i brought back with me.

Not exactly the best year for a jem but I like this piece well enough.

P.S: Miss Azusa didn't came in with me from japan. The amplug and cabinet did tho.

Sub: I totally Agree.
eieo: Tokyo. LOL. Next year i ask you along!
Relinquish69: Maybe i should rephrase it correctly. Not the best year imo. I was aiming for a Jem7v thats made from 97 to 2002 (Ebony Fingerboard, Lo-Pro Edge), but l can't complain about the rosewood with Edge pro jems either. Esp with the 5 piece neck and stuff. Really some nice work.

Ohhh. You should aim for the 2010 ones (equipped with Original Edge trem in G O L D). Since rosewood has always been Steve's wood of choice for fretboard material, it made sense why Ibanez did the swap (or so I heard).

In any case, a JEM7V is a JEM7V after all. It's a good guitar. Congrats on that purchase :).

Thanks Bro. Having lotsa fun with it currently. I wanted one with the edge but then, this japanese Gentei (Limited edition) thing kicks in telling me, in a short while, Edge pro jems will get rarer (Yes i am a great sucker for japanese marketing). But Edge pro are cool stuff none the less, only tiny problem is the non-locking studs (which can be modded via ibanez rulez), other than that, great guitar. Worth the flight over, carry and stuff. Highly recommended.

Ishibashi-gakki all the way! They have one of the best service i seen in my whole life.
"Kono guitar wo testo shitemo iidesuka? (Can i test this guitar)"
"Hai, II desu (Yes of course)!" Man proceeds to setup the guitar on the spot, YES SETUP!!
After playing around for a while, deciding to buy it and stuff, man packs everything up, paid as usual and wanting to take my purchases...Man signals that he will carry it for me all the way to the doorstep before passing it to me.

Same thing happened again while i was in ocha no mizu helping a friend to choose their house brand guitars (Mavis). The staff just gave us 100% of their service. Totally impressed.

Service aside, generally, the people in Japan are very friendly! Went to Ocha no mizu almost everynight..

using my limited knowledge of the Japanese language, I could only interpret so much haha.

is Ocha no mizu (Tea's water?) a music store or a store that serves tea? A little lost there, pardon my ignorance :P.

which part of Japan exactly? do they have many outlets? I can foresee myself going on a "kono guitar wa ikura desuka?" rampage.

G o t t a... c o n t r o l... m y s e l f... I'm quite a sucker for good customer service.

Ocha no mizu is a street in Japan (Tokyo) that sells musical instruments (ahem guitar). No need ikura desuka liao, they put the price there for you to see. Can just skip straight to... Tesuto shitemo iidesuka?

some guys have all teh luck... ok what bus go there? got shop photos/street map/gps?
for guit shop that is super good service, i wonder how 'other services' like? ..sure power!

:p
