it seems easy to most..get a guitar and go on stage. but from what i witnessed it izzint really just fun and stuff. There's equipment to go around. what i like to know is..what do they use? why do i keep seeing ROLAND floor units? How do they programme backing tracks to sing along and jam along in front of the audience? is it cost effective to do this ?

Frankly i've seen One Man Band do Santana's Black Mgic Woman with a nylon acoustic plugged in with he's own version of a backing track that came real close....and i totally forgot bout the word PRS...LOL Never mind the fingers or the feel involved. HOW DO THEY DO IT!~???

the roland unit could either be some effect unit,
otherwise it could be a hardware sequencer like a MC50.

I believe it is a build-in sequencer on those Roland guitar units. Also, there can be a accompaniment function just playing the drums. But to have more than just drums, programming must be done. Same thing for one-man-band keyboard using sequencers.

is there a certain model i can look at? cos seriously it sure beats playing alone with the boring drum machine. what i've heard has synth sounds and drums and base ...so cool...makes singing without the guitar with it sound great!~...somebody's gotta know how to do it...not bout keyboards..somebody? gimme a unit to look at
