Hi guys
Sorry for being a noob
i have in my mind to get a Tokai Les paul with a Korg AX1300 (not sure of the models name)
Would like your guys recommendations on what kinds of practice amps and effect go well with it. Budget is about 500~600 on this
Thanks you very much

I don't think you need that much for a practise amp, 500 can get you a clean solid state amp for your korg, or you can get a small tube amp. [spam] I'm selling a Laney LC-15R, a nice small tube amp. [/spam]

thanks for a quite reply :D
if i not mistaken vox path finder 15R go for around $200 or more? if that the case what kind of effect i can add it to my list? an overdrive? chorus? or distortion?
There are so many types that it crack my head to find one that is good volume within the budget
anyway i play mainly pop, rock, and a bit of others.

ohmygodz. vox ac30cc is the maxgas can.. WOW. blown away by the clarity of the clean sounds, the slightly overdriven&slightly more bright sounds ala beatles really appealing PLUS theres those controls at the back panel that can control output bias (warm or hot) and smoothing (vintage or modern)

eh you all never read the internet reviews meh? vox ac30cc got strange sounds leh!

hur hur hur.....

let me try to reply this without getting rice involved.

first thing first... your 500 is for your amp only or for the guitar/effects /amp?

If it is for the amp only, check out Voxs at City Music and Roland at Swee Lee.

If it is for all... you're better off buying a rice cooker. Panasonic make good ones. arrggghh..... rice rice rice!!!

the harmony central reviews for the ac30 cc 112 combo is quite good wad, only drawback is the service part, but hey, there are more then enuff locale ppl to help choo do svc.. hmm eh edder, where u read ur dodgy review? 8)
aiyoh.. on one page i see abt the running the valves on full power when you're not playing! wad up with that... the only thing im scared of, is that in the event i get the amp, then i play play play then the tooob picha.. 8O
one more thing, there seems to be complaints abt the chinese tubes, wads up with that either?

dc30 = 3599 usd. u gotta be shitting me right 8O 8O BUT BUT BUT wow!!!!!!
i was fiddling around with the interactive demo for the settings on 5 and 6, and the od sounds damn sweet, it has just enuff crunch and grit, yet its not too raw sounding.. hmmm aaah ciel you got me there man.. but i can keep my gas leashed for this one

ac30 if i'm not wrong is biased to Class A operation. It means something like the power amp is running ALL the time even if there's no input. Less efficient but less intermodulation distortion(not nice sound) and overall more hifi-ish tone.

the other amps are mostly biased to Class AB.

you can read more about this thro the ever knowledgeable www.google.com

chinese tubes russian tubes wotever. just get decent quality tubes from decent manufacturers and you're ok.

oh... and Sovtek aka EH makes most of the tubes in the world. Other branded tubes are sometimes just relabelled Sovtek tubes. Again... more info on www.google.com

oh and when changing power amp tubes, make sure you get the whole set MATCHED. you don't change ONE power tube, you change the WHOLE set.

mikemann correct me if I'm wrong. my knowledge of tube/tubeamps is so limited.

who in the right mind would think that 500 can get him a tokai LP/korg/ampeffect in one shot?
put that aside >__<
let said with 600 what kind of amp and pedals i can get my hands on it? a 10~15w amp with 1~2 pedals, possible? Hmmm.. sound like i started to get out of my mind lia

hmmm...u can try the ibanez valbee...great tube amp wif small size...as for efx...what kind of efx u lookin for? distortion? overdrive?

whats up with tube amps???????

did he ask for tube amps? beginner right? then why tube amps?

beginners are better off with something thats reliable and maintenance free thro their learning stage. tube amps are more leceh.

even the seasoned players often come to me and ask me where can service their tube amps.

tube amps is not the be all and end all of erectric guitarrers.

hmm..i understand ur concern abt the maintainence thing on tube amp...im jus giving our frend here something to try on...he might nt like it or buy it after he try..but its all up to him to decide...no offence bro..

relating to amps, i would recommend these 2 to starters:

*Roland CUBE30

*Crate VTX15B
