Optimising your DAW

I have been using 98lite for a number of years on a dedicated PC running Windows ME. This neat little program frees up my system resources up to 99% by eliminating internet explorer and web-integration. Not only it frees up my RAM for music making, it makes the entire Windows OS more stable and less likely to crash.

I wasn´t too keen to switch to Windows XP for a number of reasons, mainly because my older motherboard only takes in 512 MB of RAM max and XP takes up a fair amount of RAM. Now 98lite has come up with a new version for Windows XP and 2000 - XPlite. We´ve been waiting for this version for 2 years now! Most of us who use PC for music does not use IE anyway. Now everything within Windows XP is customisable. Should make our DAW more music friendly by removing all the redundant Windows stuffs.
