Older softies above 30

I used to think 30 years old is the cut off for "old". Now that I'm way over 30, it's 40 years old. My wife and me have been talking about crossing 40 in a few years and THEN we'll REALLY be old. I'm sure when we cross 40, the cut off will become 50 before we are REALLY old. :)

I'm 36. Dun log in, dun post. But this one must post Spend great deal of time with my Mary Kaye Blonde strat every nite till my wife gets jealous.

Got alot of above 30 in the forum. Just that they like to do thing quietly. Ha..ha..

gee... i might be talking too much then...

hello 30somethings, how r u?

I fall into this category also, and absolutely love this forum.

while i wish that this site can be a one stop for all which covers music and everything else in sg, i do respect it for the sole purpose of its existence too.

personally i do not post much because my cyber-time is also shared by other non-music related sites like:
- punting (shares and finance, but definitely not soccer-betting nor 4D)
- whining (politics, social, humanitarian)
- wasting time (gaming)
- others

generally i dun think its due to being "old enough not to post", just topics here not too highly interesting. on contrary, some other forums i visit probably have stats of the opposite ratio.

its amazing how this site grew to become the main musicians' portal in sg, something we dun see in other countries. i would support the idea should soft go IPO one day (of course, if the price is right :P), because i believe the main bulk of revenue can come from advertising, and i mean the bulk which can get really huge.

meantime, i still continue to read your posts, enjoying some and passing on the childish ones...

cheers

i think the reason why soft becomes singapore no.1 music forum is due to the great job james is doing.
but since we are here, i would like to know which softies are from 30- 35 age group and who is from 35-40 age groups?

haha okok. Start with 40-50 age group, who is in?

FGL doesnt look and rock like he is above 40, u look to me 28 really.

i think it's a really good gesture that we have more experienced folks here to help us younger ones out :D thanks james and all those over 30! continue to contribute to the music scene in sg! you are the ones who inspire us.

I am 45 this year and have jam and meet the other more senior members here, there are quite a lot of senior members out there , they just like to be quiet most of the time. I have meet and jam with softies old enough to be my son too and I enjoyed jamming with members of any age . I learn to play the guitar when I was 12 , start playing the bass at 14 to 22 where I stop playing due to work commitments . I started playing again when I found SOFT back in 2005 , presently I am jamming with a group of softies who are over 40s whenever we are free.
Hope more senior members can find members of their own genre just to jam for fun.

Cheers

So which softies are from 35-45?

don't be shy,

but i saw cross-genres softies before.. like 16 yrs old playing beatles or CCR and loving it,not just listening to it,but really like the bands and cover their songs well. Also, some late 30s softies who does greenday and MCR. I am not kidding, so come on, which category u fall into?

I am 34 this year. Married, and have a 15 months old baby girl. Play drums in a local indie band, our average age is around 34. The latest CD I bought was Arsis "We Are The Nightmare".

Age is just a number

yeah, keep it coming, who else is above 30 and above 40? even if you are around 50+, you are still a musician, come on~
