nu-metal:exist or extinct?

Ah don't worry about the genre, those few bands you mentioned are sufficient in holding up the nu-metal fort.
Plus, there are loads of other nu-metal bands around and emerging.

The only nu metal band I can listen to is SOAD.... pretty amazing stuff, song writing wise and riff wise.

However, since Darren changed from Ibanez Icemans to Gibson SGs.... oh man... I don't know what happened to the tone. Ugh. Unbearable.... I couldn't listen to Mezmerized because of that. But thats just me.

However, since Darren changed from Ibanez Icemans to Gibson SGs.... oh man... I don't know what happened to the tone. Ugh. Unbearable.... I couldn't listen to Mezmerized because of that. But thats just me.

System Of A Down do sound good in cd but for their live...man it's really bad. Let it be Big Day Out or Ozzfest. Sometimes I can't even hear the bass. :?

n yah..hope linkin park sounds more metal in their new album, if its coming out soon...sadly eh, some LP fans hate them when LP released Reanimation... gosh... i was glad they released meteora after that... i liked nobody's listening & from the inside...

i think rite... the only nu metal band i know is LP. hehhehehee

SOAD played live on MTV. It was pretty bad, from a technical side. Darren's SG was out of tune, his single note lines (not solos) and bends where out of tune... very ear jarring. Rest of the band was spot on, but Darren was out...

Nothing against Gibson (other than their QC and pricing hehe) but the change in direction of his tone was a big no no for me.

I suddenly feel like getting an Ibanez Iceman with a Edge trem.

Rammstein, Paparoach, Godsmack, P.O.D, Orgy etc. To name a few.
Sometimes it's pretty hard to categorise the bands.
And nu-metal hardly has any guitar solos! Which I can never accept!
