If you like Bullet for my Valentine, I'd recommend All that Remains. Also metalcore, but more brutal than most so it might be subjective if you'll like them. Still, give them a try. Plenty of their music videos on youtube.

all that remains is not really "brutal", just slightly more screaming than other metalcore bands. their latest album is even less "brutal". i think unearth is more "brutal" compared to all that remains. no offence, im a pretty big fan of all that remains as well, but "brutal" just doesnt suit them.

now.. for metalcore bands. i'll recommend by favourite metalcore band of all time: killswitch engage. especially when it was Jesse's era. not that Howard Jones is a bad vocalist, really prefer his screaming, but his cleans not as aggressive/emotional as Jesse's.

this the sort of thread that helps clarify messed up terminologies .

thankfully it finally came up

(:

two good recommendations there. i too prefer Jesse's clean vocals.

another good metalcore band would be 36crazyfists. they are not that well-known outside the US (i think). their lyrics are very "down-to-earth", in the sense that its very much about (their) everyday life and their observation of the world around them.

LOL man i just love reading these threads about non-satanic metal bands and stuff haha so damn amusing...

and teleplayer, sometimes even some metal/metalcore lyrics without the f word can also have hidden satanic meanings...trivium has lots of 'em in their shogun and ascendancy album....dude, no offence but you're probably better off without metal.

Walao... I damn sad sia... I never say clearly la....

IMO any band can be a satanic band when they write songs that have a satanic meaning. E.g. The Eagles wrote hotel california which is kinda inspired by some satanic force, but as a whole they're not a satanic band.

So it really depends.. some bands are just fully emersed in satanicish stuff and others are just.... occasionally inspired? :S just my 2-cents that any band can be satanic and not metal.

HOtel California wasn't written based on "Satanic force" however its been associated with it by those reverse playbacks myths.

Lol read the lyrics, if you think deeper and study it, even not played backwards, it's still about sin and satan and being stuck in sin kinda thing so...

And it wasn't written BASED ON, what I meant it was it was kinda inspired by

Reading and judging the lyrics will be based on the reader's intepretation..the song's writers already explained what the song was about. Yeah it's about sin related but far from satanic inspired.

oh well, at the end of the day, it's always about the music. i believe you must enjoy the music to listen to genres like these and that's all there is to it.

Yeah, I remember the lyrics has something like "you just can't kill the beast". But writing songs about satan doesn't mean they are advocating satanism. It is simply taking a neutral stance and narrating about the devil.
