new to electric guitars

Find me a businessman who says his products are not better than his competitors, then I'll believe there's such a thing as an unbiased businessman..

but dismissing decent guitars as crap is not really smth which will increase ur credibility aint it?

whitestrat: :)

no, not biased in this sense, but this bloke deems american products to be overly superior than the rest. even if an american brand name decides to engage in eastern production, to him it's heresy. smells like nazi spirit...

Heh... you should have seen how badle he viewed Ibanez guitars a few years back... He seems to be making lots of money from them now, and don't complain as much anymore...

yes, i've read that one; he even went as far as undoing a JEM tree-of-life inlay just to prove that they are not 'inlay'... it's stuff like this that gets one's country bombed...

thnx guys! finally got my epi les paul standard plus and i'm loving it! wanted it in trans blue but standard value dosen't has it... nonetheless, the service there was tip-top. nw i'm thinking of gtting pedals nxt mth when i get my pay, guys any recommedations for a decent distortion pedal? willing to fork out $100. probably buy from davis or other shops but not ebenax cos it's too far away :( .

Hmmm.......the marshall jackhammer will suit ur needs to a T. Available frm davis. Pricewise go check. Otherwise, the DS1 mod frm Standard Value is another great buy but its $20 above ur budget. Get the DS1 Live Turbo..........can do everything the DS1 Live does.

humble Newbie needs Advice - Guitar and Amp

Hi all,.

appreciate your advice. Was shopping around and was recommended a epiphone G400 custom Les Paul (cream color) and a matching Roland Cube 30X. My budget is abt $1200.
Swee Lee quoted about $720 for the guitar and $300 for the cube 30x.

Is this a good setup for a beginner newbie? Pls advice.

Thanks to all.

sg la beb.if you see above the neck pick-up it has a label that say les paul custom.or something like that.
