New MOOG Guitar with Infinite Sustain.

i'm one of them :) it's a really cool stuff they created but maybe i'm just old sch...

Paul Gilbert did something uber cool without the use of that special moog guitar.
Check YouTube - Paul Gilbert - Suite Modale

Personally i'm nt sure how he did that(maybe someone could enlighten). I'm very impressed by his classical takes always.

Doesn't look visually engaging to me. The body looks like an Ibanez, the headstock looks like AXL, Weird looking pickups. I feel 6500 is very overpriced. Can buy 5 fernandes sustainer guitars. haha

Heh, cool thing about moog is that they dont make gear aiming from geetar player point of view, but more to synth side. Thats something which other manufacturer dont do. It aint exactly a rocker geetar thingy, but for uniqueness and collectibility, the moog geetar definitely is interesting. The geetar info was semi revealed by moog on 1st of april this year, which incidentally is april's fool day, to coincide with their traditional joke of having an imaginary product released on april's fool day

Previous years release included a 4'33 silence pedal tribute to john cage and another year with a radio receiver effect pedal which can combined radio signal with some circuit signal to create a new sound. People really thot the geetar was a joke then. Till moog confirmed later that the geetar is for real.

Many years back, before the invention of sustaniac pickup. Theres this gadget, called the gizmotron, which will do the strings infinite sustain thingy(in mechanical method instead of electrically). The history of it is one of guitar effect fun thing to read about. It was said only the maker( 2 dudes from the band 10cc) and few otheres knew how to operate it musically. Bob moog, who designed many big briar/moog stuff was briefly working on the gizmotron for a while.

Company which did the research and production went bust with spending too much money into it and the product didnt really took off. Jimmy page used one of it for intro to the song, "in the evening".

i can so see johnny greenwood, a few adventurous/weird indie bands, joe satriani+steve vai+friends, and 1,098,372 post-rock bands using this guitar in the near future.

oh, wait. those indie bands won't be able to afford the thing. $6500!
