It shouldn't be surprising considering that Roland's COSM technology was 1st introduced in the mid 90's with the VG8 system. Johnson was the other company but they were using their version of modelling technology on amps. Yamaha also had their own modelling technology used in their VL series of keyboards. The popular Line6 POD and Variax technology is a natural progession of this modelling technology. Quite expected but it's really interesting to see a new line of single stomps featuring the COSM features. The OC3 pedal is one of the first single stomps to use the scaled down version of the COSM method used in the flagship VG88. Of late it's been quite brow raising to see Roland pairing up with Fender to create the VG Strat.
Digitech also has pretty neat things going. I've been a big fan of their rack gear and the whammy pedals. That Brian May in a pedal Red Special is quite something. Not so sure what version of modelling technology is used but it sounds pretty spot on.
Hey, even Eventide to much surprise are even getting out some neat stomp pedals.
ps. Catch Embryo live at Esplanade outdoor theater tomorrow evening 21st Jan 2007 show starts at 7.30pm. Fragements the new EP CD will also be available there!
MT-2 still king...still king...that dyna drive...is kinda impractical..sometimes u accidentally strum hard(clean)...die,its gonna come out like overdrive
that dyna drive is preety cool with practise can get exactly what u want. Only complaint is the distortion when played hard seems harsh. Time for a mod anyone?
Oh wow, so u guys have already test run if not owned this new Dyna Drive pedal? Personally, I wouldn't be sureprised that it uses COSM technology which would pretty much be impossible to mod in te same way as good ole analog drive pedals.
