Hi y'all! need some help here!

Im tinking of getting a new Marshall amp for bedroom use, Currently using the G15 RCD, wanna upgrade to a better more powerful one so i can enjoy my music more! looking for tube one! a simple but good one dat has the basic stuff like the PRESENCE, MIDS, REVERB and stull like dat!

Budget for amp is abt $1000 + - here and there!

As for guitar, im split between a Ibanez SAS36, a Les Paul Copy(Tokai or somewat) and an ESP

So i really need ur help in helping decide! and pls do advice to yea! thanx a million!

Cheers!

What kind of music do you want to play on that amp? Tube amps don't mean a thing if you get the one that doesn't suit you.

Guitar wise, I think feel matters a lot. How you like the neck profile, body etc takes precedence. Electronics can change but woods and shapes are hard to swap.

Ever thought of the Roland Jazz Chorus? Although it's not tube, but this amp is really really great. Plus the JC90 now cost only S$1,0XX.

Amp-wise, try the Laney LC15R. It is pretty loud for a 15 watter and it has enough gain for most rock style (not for hardcore and metal of course...) PM cpt_oreo. He has on for sale.

Say what you want about it, I'm still very fond of my Fender Blues Junior.. I'd rather have a '59 Bassman, sure, but the Blues Jnr won't get my neighbours calling the cops on me. And it's cheaper..

Depends a lot on what sort of tone you're after. All the amps mentioned so far are great amps. It's just a matter of what sort of tone you want..

The most accurate les paul model ESP makes is the Navigator series, not shown on their website.

Some feel it is even better than the Gibson R9 itself, but with a price tag to rival too 8)

Dude........if u cld specify wat kinda music u play and wat sorta tones u want and all already mentioned, we cld definitely help u. Jus give us watever sounds or specs or watever u want and we will be able 2 help.

Hi So sorry for my late reply brothers!
i was in camp and juz knocked out the whole day yesterday!

Well for amp initially i was tinking of the JCM 2000 by Marshall! since it has the settings i require and need and is pretty simple as i would use it for cleans and further utalise the rest for my dirty channels!

And also its pretty similiar to the Randal Amp i use for jamming at Wee Lee Studio at Serangoon although i love and use a Marshall G15RCD for home practice!

But i tink the JCM is kinda "too much" for a home practice! So im still checkin out reviews and inputting the info i get frm my fellow SOFT brothers as to which one to get!

Ah yes, i was also eyeing the Fender Amp and Randolf's place! But its been a long time i went to him and forgot the Model! :(

Well as for Genres of music, i play from Hard Rock to Gothic Rock/Metal !!!
So i really need a good Tube Amp, although for home practice as im also very sound particular!

As for guitar, i was deciding on one of the ESP Eclipse Models which uses the EMGs! But im not very sure if the EMGs can fit to my taste of music though! pls advise too thanx!

Thank You very much guys!
Cheers!

Seriously, for what you play, you don't really need a good tube amp. You just need a good amp. If you get a good tube amp in any case, chances are you'll need a good attenuator as well.

Fender amps are good to start with if you are going tube. Ask Randolf for the amp model you used lah. DRRI, Bassman, Twin Reverb are all very nice clean amps, with the latter 2 offering more headroom.

What I think you should do is to scout for a good solid-state though.
