hey i have a rgt42dx & i'm having probs with the floating bridge. when i tune the strings other strings go out of tune. & the allen wrench that came with the guitar cant seem to fit into the locking nut. the allen wrenches that came with it is one black & 1 silver, i suppose its one 2mm & one 3mm.

also, when the locking nut is screwed tight, are u able to turn the tuners?

so how do i go about tuning the guitar? thanks.

its like that one, cause floating, need to keep retune it till all strings are in tuned. you can still turn your turners after locking your nut, but the tension between bridge and nut wont increase, its the tension between the nut and headstock that will increase, in short dont tune by turning your tuner when your nut is lock, if its just a little out of pitch you can tune it using the fine tuner on your bridge

search the forums for the thread on tuning a fr guitar...

i think the wonder cow will appear soon to give his holy decree with regards to this matter...

but when i lock the nut, & when i turn the tuners, the string still goes out of tune. does it mean my nut is not locked tight enough?

no.. same thing.. if u're tightening the string it can still be tightened.. if u're loosening it it shouldn't...

If you have locked the nuts, how can you tune it?
The locking nuts are supposed to 'lock' so that when you whammy it will help with keep things in tune.

Unlock the locking nuts before you tune.

IT IS I.

Aiyah, so what if I know how to tune up a floyd? ;)

Dude, www.ibanezrules.com

The rest, its trial and error.

What is expensive: the floyd rose baseplate is crucial, don't damage that

Unlock the locking nuts before you tune.

Meeting up is good, nothing like directly teaching. I learnt all about trems from Daniel.

I'm sure, www.ibanezrules.com has all your answers as to what part of the floyd is what.

How can you have allen wrenchs that don't fit? Didn't they come with the guitar?

ok i tried to tune the guitar & repeated the tuning so that they are more or less in tune. so now the bridge is leaning towards the neck, so i used a screwdriver to adjust the spring tension by turning the screwdriver clockwise. but its too tight i cant even turn it clockwise.

so now is the bridge is not parallel with the body? what guauge did you use? how many springs is used? i suppose 3?

you can add more strings.
