Need help on guitar gear!

I'm not well-versed in FR-equipped guitars so I can't say much about that.....

Basically you have to ask yourself, whether you just want a clean channel on the amp to function as an empty canvas, using your effects primarily for drive, or you want to use the onboard distortion as a base to add on to.

Personally, I own the Cube 30, and from my experience, it's more of a jack-of-all-trades. The main feature that would induce people to buy it would be the number of amp models and provision of basic effects, making it quite a versatile unit which can deliver a number of tones decently. Certainly, the Cube can handle heavier sounds, it has a Mesa Rectifier model as well as a few other high gain amp models.

Judging from your music, you'd probably want a high gain distortion unit. Again I'm not a owner or user of any such pedals so I think it's best left to those who are more familiar with these effects. Several suggestions have been made earlier in the thread and I'd recommend that you try out the different options before you decide on your purchase.

My advice is stick with the Cube 30. Its modelling and digital efx are a great way to experiment and play, plus it sounds great for a practice amp.

Volume, come on... just play it softer, and when you are able to, crank it up a little more. Its not a tube amp.

The Ibanez RG350 is a good guitar with a good floyd rose. What more do you want?

Mind you, at your budget, the floyd rose you get will probably be of dubious quality. I think the Ibanez RG350 has a good floyd rose.

ok shall go try to cube 30, btw my budget is quite flexible. so not taking my budget into consideration, what other better 24 fret FR guitars are there?

id say just go for ibanez if ure looking for 24fret guitars with floyds. they make an overwhelming amount of those. dont seem to see much of their guitars having other specs. but if ure a little more loose on the pocket u might like to try ESP guitars too. schecters too.

Hehehe... penta, esp guitars? :D Thats if his pocket is wayyyy loose! And holey! Perhaps the LTD range @ Davis, but they all use licensed floyds that may or may not work well.

Schecters... well... licensed floyds too... except for that 1 signature series... but i think its 800 bucks. Or 900?

cube30 wise...there's a dude selling his cube 30..maebe u can get in touch with him and arrange smth..

about the metal master pedal... i hav e metal master, personally i think it
s awesome for heavy riffs, but dat is onli when the "morph" knob is turned past 12 o'clock. i think u would b happy wif e chunky, thick palm-muted sound dat yr looking for.

HOWEVER, it produces a high freq sound dat is kinda sharp to e ears, therefore i don realli like it used as a solo pedal. also, it gets noisy n slighty muddy when e "morph" knob is b4 12 o'clock. probably can b solved wif some tweaking but i havent got round doing it yet.

want more info check out subversion's review.

so what's the difference between licensed FR and FR? is licensed FR like designed by another company juz dat it is licensed under FR? just like the diff between Duncan Designed & seymour duncan?

btw i tot some schecters other than the signature ones had original FR on them.

i read a review on digitech death metal, haha sounds gd sia.

yeah; licensed floyd roses vary widely in quality, usually the better the guitar, the better the floyd rose.. usually. You can always swap them out for a better one, however.

the Ibanez RG trems don't have any outstanding problems, and their pickups can pull metal off pretty decently anyway. A good pedal would be a better investment.

so is it the licensed FR or original FR on the rg350?

i've seen the review on rg350, its stock pickups there rite. wad models have like emg or duncan pickups w/ original FR?

Hey Guys... How r schecter's guitar... I tinkin of tradin my epi at G77 n get a schecter or parker p series.... Wat u guys tink????

Its a licensed Floyd on the RG350 but a good one.

Licensed floyd rose means its a design based on the Original Floyd Rose trem, so it has to be licensed since Floyd Rose has a patent. You can google for all this information online.

You want to get a guitar with emg or duncan pup, with original floyd? You can't afford it.

Schecters are okay. I dislike their frets, overly shaved, look like rectangles.

Parker P series, feel cheap to me.

ooh... but some Parker pm10 reviewed by bro Sub seems impressive and also i read da 2 schecter riview... So Shredcow u got any recommendation... I am willin 2 spend up 2 1k any guitar u recommend...??? Wat draws me 2 Pm-10 was it has coil split coz i wanna have a guitar dat can have both single coil n humbucker tone... Thx....

uh. I am not going to shoot off a recommendation right now.

But hop over to the classifieds in SOFT, empty71 is selling an AWESOME guitar. For 1k. I kid thee not.

Other than that...
I think with 1k for a guitar, you're better off 2nd hand... can get a nice ibanez prestiege or other stuff.

During that era, 1995, did country of orgin make a difference?

A Ritchie Sambora Strat for 450, its not a made in America one right? Made in Mexico?

Is an MIM (I assume) strat from back then, good?

Next question, does it have an Original Floyd Rose or is it a poor licensed copy?
