Please make some effort to title your thread properly. Generic title like "need help badly" will make the forum listing look bad.

PM me what you want to change it to and I will do it for you.

AFAIK, those pad are more for protection, especially if you are using hard beater are like wood or plastic instead. whatever "tuk tuk" sound you are referring can sometime be due to sound processing and mic also. take for example, when you watch those heavyt metal rockers play on zildjian days DVDs, their sound is always very different from their recording.

Have u tried Nigel's at 10 Haji Lane?

By the way, drummers n engineers today are using these products more for the sound, thats why they are frequently called "click" pads nowadays. Its a more sensible and organic way to get the much desired "click" that metal drummers love. By using "click" pads engineers can have alot of freedom to mix/balance the "click" with the natural bass drum tone. Altering the natural frequencies of the drum can be minimized.

Dunno if you can get it in Singapore but Ragone (you know the company that makes hardcases) have started making bass drum patches with a small piece of the plastic in it. The same stuff they build their cases out of.

I bought one a while ago, not really my kind of thing but does give you a lot of click, lasts forever and their really cheap. think it was $3.50 or something

You could also try retuning your drums. If I'm not wrong, to get the "punch" it's a loose batter with a medium loose/medium resonant, and a small pillow against the batter head. I'm not sure though haha.

u mean u want it to sound like joey jordison kick? :mrgreen:

you should try using drum triggers. go do a search on google/soft/pearldrummers forum and try to read up a bit.

quite possible to setup and play at home.

do share with us your findings ! don't be afraid to experiment and go out there do some research / shopping etc.

cheers

nah i'm not looking for drum triggers... i'm looking for click pad ( Kick Pad ) which all Heavy Metal Drummers love. cuz its to make a bass drum to sound more clicking

Sorry to burst ur "tik tik tik" bubble or fantasy but U got to really understand and fully comprehend that to get the "tik tik tik" sound from just the pad is not enough..

A good tuning to the bass drum and a good sound engineer is a must.. Just by thinking that by getting the pad is sufficient to get the sound that u need is not enough.

Here's a simple/basic arrow diagram:

Bass drum==>Boom Boom Boom==>Mic==>trigger/untriggered==>mixing board==>Click Click Click

Easy to understand right...

Bro Alvin sums it up nicely. Go get a sound engineer..
