Dear all,

I take back my words about TyMusic. Firstly, I was too mad and made a big deal out of a problem that they and nobody could fix. Only mistake they made was misplacing the guitar strap and giving the wrong analysis. I admit that posting such an issue on soft is totally uncalled for with such little evidence and with much assumption. TyMusic and others, I apologise. I'm ashamed of posting this with little thought.

your complaint is totally uncalled for and illogical.

1st - you said you wasn't sure your guitar had uneven frets, then you sent it in for servicing and presumely fret levelling.

2nd - after getting your guitar back, you sent it to 2 other shops and they said uneven frets were "nonsense". obviously the frets by now would not be uneven as it's been levelled already. so obviously they did their work, so what are you complaining about?

You should've gone to a few places to find out if their analysis are all the same, then settle on one around your budget.

Alternatively, I'm not sure if you did but you could've posted your query here in regards to repair shops softies would strongly recommend.

Lesson learnt though& I hope your guitar's sorted.

and it's a 1987 strat, given regular play time, the frets would have worn out already, causing uneven frets and warrants fret levelling/dressing. so how is this analysis "nonsense" to begin with?

Hey! I always go to TYMC for stuff regarding my bass and guitars. They're good at what they do. You better take back your words!

...or Imma let zombies loose on your ass!

First off, I'd state that I'd trust TYMC with any piece of my gear.

Next, you sent it to the other shops to check only AFTER the work has been done. Therefore their analysis will be that the frets are all fine, since it's after you had brought it down to get some work done on it.

Moving on, just because nothing seems different doesn't mean nothing IS different.

Next. Im not suggesting anything. but. they're all rival shops.

I've had enough bad and dishonest experiences with Guitar connection to not trust them with any piece of gear that i own, ever again.

i never had any problems with TYMC.

In fact, they rank #3 on my good customer service music shops in town and still is after reading this thread. They have my benefit of the doubt.

#1: Brendon (BGW Guitars)
#2: Mike ( SV )
#3: Agustine ( TYMC )

^^^ Haha harsh. But true. Take it up with them, I'm sure they'd be happy to rectify your problem, they seem nice enough.

junkiemanxl: No Beez?!?!!?!?!? Hell no.

Now that, is outright flaming. Remember not everyone has the same experiences at guitar stores. I left one classical guitar there for years and its still in the same condition (less the oxidation and mold)

This kind of threads are usually biased in some way or another. It's best to settle the issue with the guitar store and end it there. No point coming to a forum and bashing it out when the store owners are usually oblivious to what is going on around here.

been to TY for repairs twice, once for pedal repairs, the other for guitar, they wont accept the job if they dont know how to rectify the problem you send in...

Haha for me Guitar Workshop and Beez and on par for #1 spot. #2 would be Standard Value =)

Yeah. I always go to tymc for the repairs like changing of bridge/pickups etc and their services are very good. the two guys are the most (imo) friendly guys I have ever met (compared to the other shops).

And they are honest (from my own experiences). i wanted them to help me change a nut but they did not have the tools to change a nut so they told me honestly. not like some shop who dropped your guitar and use some cheapo duno-wad-shit to hide the markings and didn't even tell you.

so what you can do now is to bring your guitar back to them and solve it personally... they don't look like they are unreasonable.

or inform them about this thread. they are in this forum too.
:)

did the TS give a fair account of events?

fret wear, uneven frets, fret levelling - already addressed.

lost strap - i'm sure he was compensated for it, why didn't he mention it? if he was already compensated then why talk about it and conveniently leave out the compensation, making it a biased account?
