Multi effects!

buy POD.

I always turn off the amp sims and cab crap, but if you are looking for a quality multi consider the............

Yamaha Magic Stomp!!! It is so good. The distortions are OK (but I don't use them) but don't sound as bad as some of the ZOOM/Digitech stuff. If you tweak it may get you what u want. The the modualtion fx are studio quality and saves you the money for G-Force or G-system.

It's not as easy to use a Tonelab and you need PC to do everything but for really pro/recording fx, this one kills POD in terms of quality fx. If you get it all programmed, you can even gig with it.

Guyatone Metal Monster MM-X Demo..

Guitar used: RG7621, bridge pup thru out, HAS DropZone7 (prototype)

RG7621 -> MM-X -> Tech21 Sansamp Original (preamp eq/sim) --> Tech21 Tri-O.D. (speaker sim) --> laptop.

*MM-X setting (according to the numbers printed there, NOT time):
Distortion: 7
Mid Freq/Mids: Both at 5
Level: 6.5 (around unity)
High: 7
Low: 6.5

* Running @ 9v instead of 12v... so.. different lah... tube not so bright too, lost some bling...

I purposely added more treble, since, on a 7 string you want smooth tones, you sacrifice the Low B clarity, esp when chugging full power chords / chords... plus, you can't play with uber smooth tones live, esp when you are with another guitarist lah.. so yeap! Think towards a live context. Have fun!

nice and heavy. something i wouldn't really associate with old thrash. sounds like something Petrucci would like.

Does it sound very metalzone?
Because I recall, an MT2 never sounds like that without post recording eq-ing...

Hehehe...
If you like it thinner, less bass, feel free to lower the bass... there's like 6 notches for you to lower it... :P

HIJACK! It was about the pod or tonelabs :s not the best metal pedal (*cough* digitech metal master *cough*) :D but thanks for the input!

That pedal still sounds far to tinny for me..to harsh.

I think it retails @ USD160? I think you better google. :P

I got mine for... TADA!!!! $80 SGD. ;)

Its not true bypass though.

I think the MM-X is grittier than the GT2...

eh eh... hijack must end... :P
