Modulations! Assistance needed

wow, how this thread became a ramen discussion? I didn't read from page one.

Anyways, this is a great thread! I'm a die-hard ramen fan. Daniel and Edwin, you guys made some awesome posts!

Fav ramen so far is still Tokusen Toriniku @ Santouka, I love the saltiness of the shoyu flavor in the soup and the pork cheek is heavenly. I took the miso flavor once and i'll never do it again, it totally redefines the meaning of salt.

Noodle house Ken, soup base not bad but the noodles felt like instant noodles, the char shu is too thin, no fatty parts last i tried.

7 nuts soup Ramen @ Marutama is a total failure, plus the service is terrible (long story)

Miharu is not as good as I expected it to be, I kinda had trouble finding it the first time.

Ajisen should not exist at all. My instant noodles taste better, haha.

Have yet to try: Ichibantei, Tampopo and Baikohken

btw Dan, thanks for the cold ramen recommendation, I'll go try one of these days. I've never tasted any good ones so far.

Should we start a ramen thread? lol

I feel bad la,

Dear GodSpeed64, on behalf of the pudgy community, I apologise for ramening on your thread. Hope you find what you are looking for. Your signature indicates that you must be a SRV fan, (thats his death date if i'm not wrong), so I guess all you need is a good VIBE pedal for SRV kinda stuff, such as mojovibe, etc etc.

I use my mojovibe whenever I play hendrix or SRV, and the soup is thick and fragrant, but tampopo also not bad la, pork cheeks la, its all in there man...

Ramen thread is indeed essential.

Ichibantei is at Robertson? Then where's Baikohken?

Kyo-nichi at MSQ started on a VERY promising note. It's down the drian now. Osho at Cuppage also not bad, but I only had it once. After Ken's, I never went back. heh.

Actually, wouldn't getting a Fender amp with vibrato be better? Like a Princeton Reverb?

Vibe pedal more portable mah, on his pedalboard. Analog (hehe)some more, that is if he needs only the vibe as modulation.

For me, I only use a moonphase and a mojovibe for 3 sounds in such a small package.(chorus, vibe and phaser) for the stuff I play. unless u really need a flanger or a tremelo or what then hmm, MM4 for real-estate space saving option and also cost-effectiveness.

For what it's worth, the MM4's Leslie sim has my favourite faux-leslie sound out of all the pedals I've tried. I really miss that sometimes. If that's the tone you want, the Nova Modulator won't give that to you.

If a leslie simulator is all you want, what about an Option 5 Destination Rotation? I've never heard it myself, but plenty credible sources say that it's the next best thing to hauling around 150 lb cabinet.

If you prefer a thick phasey uni vibe, the Sweetsound Mojo Vibe is wicked good. It's also got a nice "vibrato" option that's really usable as well when you're in the mood for that JC-120 sound.

Never wanted to get a vibe sound before.. Especially not for SRV or Hendrix?
But I think I've narrowed down to MM-4 already.. Simply because of the fact you mentioned about tap tapping for the Nova (plus lack of vibe).. I read the manual for it, seems pretty troublesome to switch patches....

Hahaha.. Wow Ramen thread.. No halal recommendations ah? x)

I need to try Men-tei soon cos I've been wanting to since last year! Look forward to the menya shinchan post.

Wait... can we start a new thread on this? hahaha

You're right bro! Ichibantei is at Robertson Quay, Baikohken is at North Canal Road.
