Right, look at my phrasing:

Islam is adopted by many of those that have lost hope (prisoners, debtors, beggars, people in crises eg. Michael Jackson and so on).

I know myself that it cannot be quantified. I use Islam as an example here. Read the last sentence:

yeah - I guess ppl do see the lite when they are in trouble - most of the time anyway.... regardless of whatever religion .... how manytimes have we heard of convicted felons on death row in the US being "born again" Christians ... religion cuts across the board for the down & outters
