Hi guys, i have line 6 15x, am going to get a EHX Metal Muff. In your opinion which would sound better ?
- Metal Muff through Clean Of Line 6
- Stay with the Insane Channel of Line 6

i know i have a shit amp but, getting im getting an orange crush 15 during april.

( im a noob i know )

that's absolutely right. my advice: DO NOT go buy the muff first. your current amp will not take it well AND you don't even know what your new amp will sound like so why rush into buying the pedal?

buy the new amp and listen to it first!

then you can decide what pedals you want after that.

TBH, the Orange Crush isn't a worthwhile upgrade from your Line 6, and the Metal Muff won't sound much better through that. Save up for a Vox AC4TV or a Blackheart, and then the pedal will be a good investment.

Metal muff is actually one of the best distortions ive tried. i suggest you try the smaller brother first-micro metal muff. because, although metal muff is pretty gd, i find the boost on it pretty useless, sounds like shit.

The Orange Crush15 isn't a significant upgrade to your current amp.
Im not even sure whether it's an upgrade in any way too.
Save a lil more and get a 30 or 50 watts amp.

The metal muff w/top boost is pretty awesome. It's on-board EQ is the key.
Don't bother with the other metal muffs. (the micro and nano). They don't quite cut it.

:D

so you guys mean all 15watter is the same? i mean i need it just for a practice amp. and since my line 6 sounds like '' not so amusing to me ''. all need is a 15 watter which can handle pedals well.

This is all you need. :)

Vox Pathfinder 15R. Tested and proven.

i can vouch for that. the amp is (in)famous for not taking pedals well.

Alright, VOX Pathfinder 15R has attracted me alot, and I've seen reviews and videos about it and most people says that Line 6 Spider III 15 Watt is way better than the VOX Pathfinder 15R . Is this true?

dude.. its abt time u started listening to ur ears rather then the words of ppl. rmb this. ONE MANS MEAT CAN BE ANOTHER MANS POISON.

got it???

Okay..

But now, I'm asking for your opinions. If I were to go and test it and some shop, I would not know what type of sound is good. Thats why I need your opinions. I'm not so good at hearing good tones from amps.

wah fauxhawk very pro la always post pro things.

For newbies, it REALLY doesn't matter what gear you have. You don't NEED 'GOOD' gear because you can't make them sound 'GOOD' YET. I played non-impressive equipments before and they DIDN'T sound good. I wondered what was wrong. I could only blame my technique because I had no idea about what are good amps or good guitars. Practiced practiced and practiced, and I got things sounding better and better.

All these 'is Marshall/Mesa/Line 6/blabla suitable for me?' coming from newbies, no good la I think.

Technique noob + pro equipments = bad
Technique pro + noob equipments = good
Technique pro + pro equipments = wah enjoy!

:D

i already have gotten myself a Metal Muff from the Buy/Sell Forum. used it with my Spider III 15x, Sounds good. dont know why you guys say it would sound like shit. or maybe its becuase I have been using its ''lousy'' built in distortion since day 1.
But have to agree with the ''techinique pro + noob equiptment = bad'' i listen to metal and punk rock. so basically i can only play punk rock songs , a few metal licks here and there. the pedal sounds really ''metally'' IMO. Dosent really suite the punk rock genre.

Fauxhawker, just get any amp you want basically all amps are good when it comes to rookies. becuase rookies are usually tone deaf, after around a year , you tend to get more concentrated to the tone.

i think. Pros, correct me if im wrong.

I hope you were quoting me but I wrote "technique pro + noob equipment = GOOD" instead.
