This year's LIME SONIC BANG concert will feature more than 30 (THREE-OH!) local bands sharing the stage with international bands too in a full day festival and celebration of local music on the beach!

But expect a lineup of bands from old school legends to current favourites, as well as future torch bearers. Bands include Plain Sunset, The Great Spy Experiment, A Vacant Affair, Bad Obsession, Caracal, Fire Fight, Astroninja, Summer's Over, Saw Loser, Allura, Shirlyn and the UnXpected and many many more. Look out for exciting reunion shows from old skool indie favourites to be announced too As well as a slew for new bands!, The best part? It's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Rest assure, there will be pop bands, hip hop bands, rock bands, and indie / emo bands too. And of course, for the metalheads, a section of bands dedicated to Hardcore Singapura and Metal Maniacs alike

Me and another colleague were involved in the lineup. We were hoping we could have a lineup from musicians for our fellow musicians (Well, i'm not really a musicain. I just cock rocked my way to bullshit )

We would have loved to include so many more bands. But the rental fees for Sentosa and sponsorship couldn't allow us to book the beach for, say, ten years

It's a Mediacorp event of course. You'll see it on live TV ads, and on radio and in magazines. It was the perfect opportunity to make the local scene even bigger to the masses.

Previous years have featured a lot of "Huh? what the f*ck was that about" acts. But this year it's gonna be pretty much HARDCORE SINGAPURA! Except, u know, an entire gig of hardcore bands would mean like 100 people on the beach instead the expected 30,000 this year.

There are several Wake Me Up bands included. They are Plain Sunset, Vertical Rush, A Vacant Affair, and Fire Fight. For Baybeats lovers, we've included most of the Baybeats lineup. Along with mainstream acts like The Great Spy Experiment, and my own band Astroninja. There's 80s metal in the form of new band Synn and the resident rulers Bad Obsession. And we're in the midst of confirming old skool legends into the fray. underground hardcore bands will also be playing, and they won't be pushed into some dark corner to play to 50 people --> they'll be gracing the main stage as well.

And of course, it's a beach party. So expect what you usually get from a beach party. But please, no sex on the beach. (without a condom? LOL)

But this month in LIME there's an SMS contest. A Gibson Les Paul, worth $3000 bucks, is up for grabs. So do try to take part in that. I WANTED TO TAKE PART, but i'm not allowed to.

You know. I think this event would be a bit of overkill. We already have Baybeats and to have another event not long after that kind of saturates it I think. If this was held at a big indoor club it would not seem so bad. What do you think :?:
