I am sad to announce that this year's
LIME SONIC BANG has been canceled
You can watch it on the news tonight. The company has decided to reevaluate some aspects of its publishing sector and a number of magazines have been halted as a result of this, one of which includes LIME magazine.
My sincerest apologies to all the bands and people involved! I wanted this to happen for everyone as much as the next person.
I myself just knew about this hours ago today.
As a result of this, the event can no longer exist without the LIME branding.
On a side note, no we didn't lose our jobs.
All of the editorial team from the various magazines will be reassigned to new posts within the company.
It saddens me because LSB was growing bigger with each passing year and the event was one of the most attended free annual gigs. I've always seen LIME as a very pro-local music magazine as well - one of the few in this country - even
before I joined the team with its coverage of local events, artists and talents. It's always been very pro-local, always been for 12 years! (Save for that boyband phase. Eeks!)
But rest assured, whichever new position I will be assigned to, I will do my utmost best to continue to keep the interest of the local bands and musicians alive and help in aspects of the media in any way I can.
You have my word!
Thank you and once again, apologies for any inconvenience caused and most of all, the disappointment of some of you guys who were looking forward to catching this year's awesome lineup, which included Electrico, Plainsunset, AVA, Meza Virs, West Grand Boulevard, Full Pledge Munkees, Caracal, Love Me Butch, Astroninja, Armchair Critic, Flawed Element, Tambi Kayseow, Silhouette, Postbox, Flybar, and MANY MORE (yes yes, metal bands too ) with intentions to invite Impiety, The Great Spy Experiment and 30 Seconds To Mars.
Sigh! What a waste! Would have been a fun gig.

EX-Limer!
New -?!?!?!??!!- (can't wait to announce this!)
P.S. This is not a prank. The event has been truly canceled. Watch the news tonight!
