Les Paul or Strats??

I would prefer les paul because of the sexy shape,and the humbucker pickups.But I also like strats because its much lighter.I prefer les paul more.

Lespauls rock out like no other...
a good strat will cover almost everything else.

Strats are versatile and can cover almost all genres of music but personally i like the LP a little better.
It looks totally cool and sexy, i like the warm clean tones and the "full-bodied" sound when you turn the gain up.

A guitar player once told me you should have the following in your collection if you can fork out the dough:

1) Fender strat
2) Fender Tele
3) Gib LP (Any model)
4) A good superstrat style guit could be ibanez/ esp watever

And you can rule the world...............

used to swear by the les paul, then the twang of the strats hooked me.
and somehow single coils seems to respond better to your pick attack . So single coils works better for me because i like to whack the strings super hard

why no mention of the hollowbodies? they've got their own distinctive tone too IMO
I would add a gretsch or ES-335 type guitar to the list.

i must say. Everyone MUST HAVE A LESPAUL ... if you like Rock, Metal or Blues.... something about lespaul's construction just gives it that woody, singing fat tone...

It's the short scale and angled neck. String vibration goes thru the body structure, not above it like Strats.

But it doesn't do strat tones...:twisted:

Should own both platforms... not just one of them. But if it comes down to choosing, it's strats for me...:mrgreen:
