Les Paul Custom VS Standard

Hi everyone. I'm currently saving up for an Edwards Les Paul guitar( 92 or 98 ), but im not sure whether to get a custom or a standard. LP customs looks cool, while the standards look nice and warm. Besides the looks, i've been doing some research and i read that customs have a clearer sound compared to the standards. I'm not sure about it, thus i hope u guys will give me some advice on choosing which Les paul to get~

:D

it depends on the spec

PU .. what's the tonal characteristic?

the wood.. maybe using an ebony fretboard or a rosewood fboard?
the ebony is lighter than rosewood

the body thickness...

does it have a chambered body

i think u should try it and judge it with your hands and your ears:D

Thanks eclipze~
Btw, the specs for the E-LP-92SD(standard) is:

BODY (Top) Flame Maple (Back) Mahogany w/ Ivory Binding
NECK Mahogany
FNGERBORAD Rosewood, 22frets w/ Ivory Binding
RADIUS 305R
SCALE 24.75 inch (628mm)
NUT Bone (43mm)
INLAY Pearloid Dish
JOINT Set-neck
TUNER GOTOH SD90-SL
BRIDGE Old Type Tune-Matic & GOTOH GE101Z
PICKUPS (Front) Seymour Duncan SH-1n
(Rear) Seymour Duncan SH-4
PARTS COLOR Nickel
CONTROLS Front Volume, Rear Volume, Front Tone, Rear Tone,
Toggle PU Selector

...and E-LP-92-CD(custom):

BODY (Top) Hard Maple (Back) Mahogany w/ White & Black
Laminating Binding
NECK Mahogany
FNGERBORAD Ebony, 22frets w/ White Binding
RADIUS 305R
SCALE 24.75 inch (628mm)
NUT Bone (43mm)
INLAY Pearloid Block
JOINT Set-neck
TUNER GOTOH SG301-04
BRIDGE Old Type Tune-Matic & GOTOH GE101Z
PICKUPS (Front) Seymour Duncan SH-1n
(Rear) Seymour Duncan SH-4
PARTS COLOR Gold
CONTROLS Front Volume, Rear Volume, Front Tone, Rear Tone,
Toggle PU Selector

Not much difference, just that the material for the fingerboard is different.

What is the price difference like?

From what I can see, only differences are
-tuner heads,
-fingerboard
-top

Anyway good choice, can't go wrong with Edwards for these prices. Price-performace ration, absolutely top-notch. I almost bought an LP92, only to have something else grab my attention before I splurged.

Anyway, just FYI, some things that either the sales people will choose to withhold, or simply because they do not know;

-they have maple veneers not full maple caps.
-their proclaimed nitro finish is a thin nitro layer-over-poly finish, not full nitro finish.
-initial phase of manufacturing is done in China.

Not to detract the Edwards, I've played them and love them.

its a les paul copy i should say.The only "legal" les paul copy would be the epi les paul :???:
