lead stacking + buzz noise help

hey fellow softies. i've been experimenting alittle on lead stacking and i have yet to find that sound im looking for. right now im using od2 and a mxr zw od stacked back to back with the od2 infront.

problem is, i get this really bad buzz (think high gain buzz noise) when my mxr zw is boosting my od2 even though the gain setting on the pedal isnt high. when i switch it the other way, the gain's just terrible.

right now, my setup's guitar>od2>mxr zw>ce-2>artec delay>blackheart little giant (ungrounded/stock tubes)

anybody has a solution to this?

also it'll be nice if you guys could recommend me pedals that will give me a sweet nice thick overdrive sound with a good booster behind for solos.

Some pedals just aren't suited for boosting. Why don't you run your amp slightly hotter, just on the brink of break-up, then kick in the od2 or zw to boost?

if you connect directly from guitar to amp and hte sound is still there, should be grounding issue

if not, then should be ur pedal's gain too high?

aite, will source for a cable within the week. oh and my amp doesnt go all buzzy if its guitar straight into the amp.

just curious, i have this extra jack input in my cab that says "parallel jacks". anyone knows what it does?

It's your pedals. The buzz sounds like too much gain stacked. Lower the gain on both pedals. I get a hissing noise from my gain pedals too. Try if you don't want to lower your gain, it's time to add a noise supressor to your lineup.

Thanks for the tip. So there's an earth wire in the 2pin cable?. Why not make it into 3pin and save consumers the trouble?. :)

Wah! I didn't know about this.

I changed my brother's bass amp cable to try. His was a Type H. Feel good that I did it.

Thanks! :)
