arent we side-tracking a little bit here? I think teens these days are mainstream listeners, the music scene with most kids (not all) in singapore is the fact that they do not listen to other kinds of music, besides those that are being publicised by the media.

Hmm...whatever happened to those peepx who like steve vai and satriani? >_< hmm..but it seems tt lotsa young pple now like DT...mmm....I guess it's because it's an IN thing to be keeping up with the latest music? Last time i was still a fan of linkin park..dug high and low for their first album Hybrid Theory after seeing their first MTV video...One Step Closer..but after they got mainstream and everybody started listening to them..i dunno la...the awe abt them just kinda disappeared...

Interesting how most people are blasting techno! I believe it's all relative and subjective - depending on which generation you belong to. When I was in my teens, I have the exact same remarks to anybody listening to pop songs (not even rock - just any song with a bass guitar and drum!!!!). My neighbour was blasting some rock music - and I turned my cassette player to the max (no CDs in those days) with the loudest music I have - Mahler Symphony no. 1, 4th movement! :lol:

I believe these young people will say the exact same thing to the next generation of youngsters - whatever they will be listening to then.

One generation above me - my music teachers. They would think I'm a renegade to real music and would have disowned ever knowing me as a student if they listen to the music I write now...
