korg pitchblack tuner

Yeap it's pretty interesting man.

I've come across loads of tuners claiming to be true bypass, but in the end sounded like crap in the chain. One good example was the Planetwaves tuner...what a total piece of crap that turned out to be.

Good stuff!

The KPB really appeals to me because of the small footprint it takes up on a pedalboard, as compared to let's say a strobostomp. Can't wait to check one out.

Thanks

The thing about marketing is just that! If the product is indeed true bypass - you wouldn't hear stuff like "true hard bypass" or something weird. If its True Bypass, its TRUE BYPASS - say it plain.

as far as i've heard from a lot of ppl, issues like this don't really matter to most guitarist and bassist. why? well, because most of us (i repeat most, not all) dont use enough effects pedals for it to matter.

e.g. for me, i only have 3/4 pedals in my rig, so even if all of them arent true bypass, the effects of it on my tone i would say are pretty negligeble, though crazy sound ppl might say otherwise =P

having that said, to me it always comes down to another issue. i buy from the friendliest salesman hahahaha... kinda tricky to use this rule for online purchases though ;)

well thats besides the point dude. totally different debate altogether. we'r talking about manufacturers who advertise their products as true bypass, and they are ironically not being true to their words. As a consumer i feel that we have the right to know and not be hoodwinked even when it comes to these supposedly trivial issues.

with regards to the old debate of bypass, well, my philosophy has always been a good ol' buffer in the front.

agree with the buffer bro =]

and yeah it was a different issue

i guess different manufacturers have different ways of justifying their pedals as true bypass. something like how 2 ppl can say their tone is buttery whereas both their tones are totally different.

but i guess true bypass shouldnt be that difficult. just "no tone lost/alteration when pedal is off" =P
