Isn't it strange that Stephanie Sun had to make it Taiwan before being recognized in Singapore?
Same goes for other idols like Kit Chan, JJ, Yida, Tanya and A-Do.
But that's taiwan being one of the 'pop culture capitals' in asia. I also see M'sian artistes like Fish Leong who had to do the same as the above did.
So IMHO, I wouldn't classify Steph Sun as a "Made in Singapore" sound. I think the closest example would be Tanya, who did the whole pub scene and worked her way around and up before going into the chinese mkt.
