Is metal really dead?

Of Course metal is still alive and very well to say the least!!
i believe metal will keep going on..even like 25 years into the future??

Well there was a time when punk tried to overthrow metal...
There ws a time where Techno and disco tried overthrow metal..
Everytime any mainstream crap tried to overthrow metal we strap our boots,stayed resilient and stand strong...

I don't think metal or any music that requires skill and technique will be dead anytime soon(there was a time they said the guitar is an instrument of the past)...We just have to defend the faith

Metal is a counterculture and it'll stay. But I don't believe about all the punk rock/techno trying to overcome metal.

Punk rock itself is a counterculture turned mainstream and I just f**king hate techno.

And theres still metal bands even in puny singapore. not the metalcore nonsense and theres a one hour segment ever week on ria playing metal. BAnds influenced by Kreator, orbituary, sodom, morbid angel, etc are still around. And myspace's is a cool place to check the bands out.
