can i give an idea.
since the radio blog still takes up soft's bandwidth, maybe u can lower down the bit rate, making the file smaller. the quality is low tho.
but later, u can put up a download section where peeps can download the better quality songs which they liked after listening to the radio blog.

yeah, put format as:
WMA 32 kbps mono
the lowest file sizes for acceptable not too distorted sound quality

james, if its already this format and u want to save on soft.com's bandwidth,
maybe u could try:

can dump songs there... limitations are that each song file < 800KB
thats a 3mins 20seconds WMA file at 32kbps mono

If you are going to let it be a download, you'll have to watch for copyright and interllectual property infringement. You may have to state that clearly before people send you the files. As for the files already uploaded to you, you should tell them that. Good thing about streaming is that we don't worry too much about this.
I'm not sure of others, but the reason I don't put all my songs on sites like soundclick is because they let people download. But then, I may be the minority.

i think the current system lets ppl d/l the mp3's
sometimes streaming downloads the file into ur com... depends on streaming what format...
i don't know bout sound click, but for iwebtunes, just make the artist as sum unknow thingy, then ppl will not go d/l for nothing liao... they only d/l popular songs...
add on:
i noticed the current files on the net radio are 64kbps stereo... if there are not much variations between left and right channels, just convert it to 32kbps mono... and WMA have better sound quality at lower bit rates as compared to mp3s
