Importing Guitar from Ishibashi

Hi guys, i am interested in importing a fender from ishibashi. As i have never done any online guitar shipping before, can someone give me some advice?
Is there any tax to pay if the guitar is shipped into Singapore? Anyway, is ishibashi's U box reliable? And for those who have shipped in guitars from ishibashi before, how long would it take?

Ishibashi is very reliable. Bought from them numerous times. Drop them an email to enquire about the item that you are looking at. You can request for more pics if you want.

Shipping is pretty quick - 2-3 days by EMS. You will need to pay GST on your purchase (cost of item(s)+shipping cost+insurance (if any))

Everything mentioned here +1

Bought a couple of guitars new and used as well as effects from their U-Box.. pretty reliable and they do wrap the guitars pretty well with lots of bubblewraps although there have been cases where the guitars to break at the neck when arrived.

If possible try to get more pictures of the said item when you're enquiring with them.

the U_box is really inexpensive. There are a few strats that have been going for less that 500 SGD albeit at a not so good condition - but playable.

They saw quiet a number of vintage 80's and rare stuffs on their site. Heard pretty good comments about their service too. A thorough pre order checklist is still recommended.

i am a return customer of ishibashi on numerous occasions. if you did a search you would have found something that i and other guys mentioned before. but now you don't even have to.

they have a site for overseas customers
http://www.ishibashi-music.com

everything you need to know is there.

to avoid GST the total value of your items (goods+shipping+insurance) must not exceed SGD400.

time taken for them to reply your emails is about 2 working days. if you reply to their emails, it is even faster. but that is my own experience.

finally, the displayed prices are inclusive of 5% japanese consumption tax (one of the most expensive countries in the world has lower tax than singapore -.-) which you will not need to pay if the stuff is shipped overseas.

additional point- all MIJ stuff from ishibashi are cheaper than anywhere else. imported stuff tends to be expensive. this is normal.

as for the u box, everything is cheaper except for vintage stuff

I just ordered a several guitars from kurosawagakki last week, they all arrived within one day of shipping. Really quick. As for taxes, anything which costs more than 400SGD is liable for taxation by the government. It's 7% of the item price excluding the shipping fees.

just wondering.. like you know ishibashi got the u-box. then where's their like inventory of new items?
