Hi mates...

I got this question to ask....
Wads the difference between Ibanez guitars made in Japan,Korea,Indonesia n China..

I just bought one from Swee Lee...
N its made in Indonesia...

Any Comments????

Its an RG7321

Tell me sumthin...

Thanx!

Ian

there's nothing wrong with the korean/ chinese/ indo guitars. my latest ibanez (RGR321- review available in the database) is also indonesian & it's superb. i believe brand snobs would tell you one guitar is better than the other in terms of the country of origin but what really matters are issues of playability & tone, primarily. no use buying an anerican guitar which is a dud upon bringing it home (there are indeed such guitars...).

so my next Ibanez, it seems, is gonna be another indonesian...

Tnx fer the quick reply dude..

Well u put ma mind at ease now...
I bet its just a word of mouth goin around that certain countries do imitations but i bet our Ibanez arent...hehe

Well thanks n now um gonna look out fer 2nd hand guitars!!!!!i dun care where it cum from now!!!!

Gd day!

U gotta test before you buy & see if it fits your playing technique & check for cracks at neck joint, etc...

haha i just bought the RG7321 last nyte...
but aniwae wads ya Ibanez model???
Who knows i myte be interested???

Wow nice axes...

Would love to..if i got enuff funds,,hehe

*hey Subversion, tell me sumthin ggod or special bout 7strings????

the 7-string is for players looking for something fortifying in the bottom end offering without quite detuning the instrument. personally, i did equipped mine with an extra high A instead of a low B & it proved to be quite adventurous.

the RG7321 review is available here: http://soft.com.sg/web/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=18022

well different countries just mean different quality control really. maybe some brands might use different woods from different locations, difference hardware, pickups etc.

but if you find a good playing piece, then the origin shouldn't really make a difference.

It is a general perception that Ibanez started in Japan and luthiers in Ibanez Japan is more skillful and experience than other branches. Of course it is also possible to see flaws in Japanese models and great craftsmanship in non-Japanese Ibanezs. If one is not capable of examining the great guitar then going for brand and countries of origin method is safe way because less chance of getting wrong.

hey sub,

possible to post some soundclips or videos on tt rg8? seems impossible to play man! haha.. i got a feeling it will sound like a bass guitar somewhere..

There was once I went to sweelee to take a look around a few months back. I've taken an observation on MII RG7321 and compared it to one which is MIK from my memories.... it might just be me, but MII just seems to have better workmanship compared to MIK, altohugh the MIK unit could be semi-lemon or just taken bad care of.

Sub: Oh man, I cant imagine playing on an RG8.... Since you have a high A on your 7 string, I wonder what happen if you put high A and low B on your 8. =P

bro- that's one of the tuning options that i will be employing in time to come... once the currents strings become unplayable.

it's true, some of the Indo Ibanez models (not ALL), surpass their korean counterparts in terms of craftsmanship. i do note a better rosewood grade on them (RGR321/ MTM2/ RGR320 among others).
