nah, your command of English isnt poor at all....wasnt implying anything like that at all man. I was just curious to finding out more about your opinion since you said the JEM is the best...but then if one has cash one should go for the J custom. At least now I'm quite clear on what you actually mean.

sorry for the confusion man. ya.. well if u wanna break out of tht thing where pple jus judge ur playing by the guitar u are using, u shud jus get the j custom. its not exactly too vaish.. cuz there's no monkey grip. and also it has that versatility where u can make it sound like a twangy strat but also not loosing tht ibanez thing u noe.. yupp..

but at the end of the day, i am a sucker for JEM. hahaha. and i noe u are not implying anything.. its just tht i noe tht its really confusing. cuz i was jus on the high on typing something out! u noe those days where u are tired but jus wanna let pple know something.. hahaha.

don't get a jem jr, there are many better guitars out there for that price. i had one and the overall sound was just unsatisfactory for leads.

sidetrack - vai, satch and malmsteen were once asked to autograph a JEM as to gift to a fan or smth. Malmsteen simply scribbled "play fender" on the guitar. HAHA!

Current production JEMs and J-customs prices, (aside from Rock Inn¸ Kurosawagakki and Ikebe custom orders) are about the same. It just goes down to personal preference, mahogany vs alder vs bassword, tone zone vs evo etc. I prefer JEM necks but clean tone on J-custom is a lot nicer (to my ear). Nevetheless they both are great guitars.

Wah... Ibanez owes Vai BIG TIME man...

he gets loyalty fees for that, yes including RGs.

I actually use an Ibanez and a Fender each I wouldn't say I'm in one camp or the other though, they're both so awesome at what they do.

EBMM guitars just own, killer tone and their not heavy! Try it if you can, I was blown away by a JP6.

anyway with regards to Jems, I would say their necks feel different as compared to a regular RG. its quite a shame that the current 7vwh comes with a rosewood fretboard instead of the previous ebony. to me it just makes it less exclusive.
