How many guitars do you have?

2 guitars. 1 is more than enough for me but I need another 1 for downtune. 3 if you want to include a bass. Could be 4 if my friend ever going to return my old acoustic which is extremely unlikely.

How do you deal with gas?
I'm sure not all your guitars are used? Some are just for collection ?
Any violent objections from family / missus?

How do I deal with GAS? Simple. I don't. Heh... If I want something I buy it. I don't see the need to justify any purchase as long as it's what I want and can afford it. ALL of my guitars are used. Expect perhaps that maple necked 20th Anniversary Silhouette, but I have 2 of those, so I mainly play the RW one since I'm too lazy to clean the maple fretboard. Heh... But all are played. And all have different applications.

Violent objections? None. Since I'm using only my money, and no one elses, I don't see how anyone can object... My wife also does in some ways support my hobby, since I don't party, drink or get high in any other way anymore... ;)

^ Man, where'd you get a classic custom? :(

I have 3 atm as well, all electric.

Gibson Les Paul Standard
PRS 513
Ibanez S5470 (FS!! *shameless plug*)

Relax bro, you have a gibby and a prs 513. Thats awesome gear.

Got it from ep.tjan. He shipped it in from the usa and while it was on the way i agreed to deal. 400 in the world at just 3.5k! hahaha loving it..

Where you now after o's bro?

madnessman, which guitar do you have now and which guitar are you hoping to get? What is the reason for getting the second guitar?

I have a Cort X-6. It's basically an Ibanez H-S-H floyd rose model. I've been playing guitar for over a year (on my sister's acoustic) but I only bought an electric guitar August (so 7-8 months ago).

I'm planning on getting a Swing Prism. Why? My Cort is decent at playing rock and metal but it's not that great at playing "lighter" music. And since I'm starting to play a lot more blues and jazz, I wanted something that could handle it. Also, I like SD pickups. And this guitar has great value for money. My other choices were an Edwards LP and a PRS SE Custom Semi-Hollow Soapbar.

I currently have four guitars. Three acoustic guitars and one electric guitar. One of the acoustics is no longer in use due to problems with the tuning heads.

Personally, I think unless you're a professional musician playing gigs and shows, you don't need more than one guitar. Unless of course you use a lot of different tunings. But if you're a performing guitarist already, have at least two guitars of each type and tuning, because you'll need a backup in case shit happens. But don't have too many guitars either because some are going to be under-utilized.

Yes of course.. just intrigued. :D The 513 is great, really lives up to all the hype about its versatility, and of course the always amazing PRS workmanship applies here too.

Better GASing than KTVing......
Hey.......I'm feeling better already....thanks for the tips.

Hey,

I have been playing for 6 - 7 years.

I had a Peavey Raptor and Washburn (forgot model) guitar before. Sold it off.

Now, I have a Epi Les Paul and a Ibanez RG.

Oh! And a Congress acoustic. So that will be 3 guitars excluding my bro's acoustic and bass.

well i have an alder MIJ strat and an ibanez SA.
of course i want more. but i'll sell off all those i wont play.
and i'd want a specific guitar for a specific sound if i can afford it (eg, prs sound get prs. thick rock and roll sound get lespaul. sparkly cleans, single coil stuff. heavy and all out metal, anything with mahagony + emgs!)

like.. based on my music and the tones i'd want to achieve. wooo i wan money

i have a handful... i dunno y the need to convince, cos u asking her to buy u another 1, or u nd to get clearance from her to buy with your own money?

if u actually bothered to work during the last sch holiday (note tt i dun mean working part time during sch term) to earn some money for that and scored good grades during last exam, i respect u... i did that during my sch days...

however, if otherwise, then one is enough. i've always looked down on kids like that, they grow up spoilt and takes all things for granted.
