How do you put your amp?

i don't know if this is a weird question, but can i ask you guys where you put your amp? esp those solid state combo amps that are smaller in size...

like do you put it on a stand (i.e. somewhere raised e.g. stool, chair, table) or on the floor?

i use a Roland cube 30, and i put it on the floor, but somehow i find that the tone sounds weird. cos when i stand and play, somehow not the full tone from the speaker is directed at myself.

i saw this guitar amp stand for sale on the city music website, but i don't know if it's practical...any of you guys have it? or may i know what do you all do?

this is wat i do..

oh cool ok...

but my amp's controls are on top, so if i slant it like that the knobs would be at the back then a bit hard to adjust the stuff when i play.

i was thinking of raising it, like put it on a stool or something, but i don't have flat chairs in my house (yeah lame i know, but it's true :P )

hmm...but maybe no choice lah rite?

anyway thanks man!

if you get amp stands/holders, it will also make your amp slant to the back.
chair not stable, put your amp on a table!

if the amp control is on top, most amp stand will tilt the amp at a angle and you will still have to reach further for the controls.

Cheapest way will be getting a stool or stack old yellow pages as a platform to elevate the amp.

If you wanna spend more, can get a small coffee table or monitor stand combined and put the amp on top.

ok thanks. think i will go down to city music one of these days and have a look at the amp stand...the website says it costs 25 bucks.

if not then i'll probably see if i can get a stable stool that can tahan my amp's weight (not those cheapo plastic ones) from the hardware store.

my parents don't like the idea of a stack of yellow pages/newspapers/rough papers around the house (they say fire hazard).

Hey, are you talking about closed-back or open-back amps?
I would like to hear about where you place your open-backs, cause the sound gets reflected and stuff.
(eg. corner, flat wall, elevated)

hey jet86! I also face the same problem as you on my cube30, have you bought the stand, so how it is? Can you take a pic and show me how it looks or can you post the link to the citymusic website? Thanks. :D

gsonique: hey you know, if he puts the open back amp across on the toilet bowl, he might just be able to see the water in the bowl ripple as he jams...maybe enjoy a couple of splashes.

Thanks for the link jet! Maybe I will go down to get one of this sometime soon, but will it be able to withstand the weight of the cube30? Should be right? :D
