How do u find the metalcore scene in Singapore?

i play deathcore, but i also wouldnt mind to play pop punk like all time low and such, its all good music

to me metalcore is a stepping stone to experimentation of the genres metal and hardcore, and its actually really quite good.
its fine if u dont want to classify it under metal
but most metalcore music are actually quite awesome
its just that the same chord progession might be quite boring
but u see bands like august burns red try and make something special with their music

btw metalcore is not gay

Yeah, metalcore is not gay... But it's really damn difficult not to discriminate certain bands... I don't want to mention some bands I don't like.. (scared banned man..) and if someone very naive were to say them in a genre I like.. (for me is rock). I will discriminate that group although it's wrong. It just comes out from my mouth...

Maybe Metalcore addicts should widen their search for much better bands than the mainstream...
I realise that Metalcore may not be a bad genre, but the quick rise of the genre thanks to a number of mainstream bands, it probably left a bad impression of the scene.
No doubt these musicians are talented, but because they are getting so much attention, there a number of good ones that hardly, anyone notices..

this is my personal opinion, but that post is so wrong in so many ways. im not at all a fan of deathcore, but that doesn't make it a genre for homosexuals. i dont think back in the 80s, death metal or thrash metal were very 'welcomed' either. i bet all the maiden fans are like "wtf is up with this gay shits, stick to heavy metal! stop creating new 'scary' bullshit!"

yeah, one band does not generalise every other band. not all core bands look like that.

and btw, being gay is not about wearing certain clothes and making your hair a certain way, gay is a sexual preferance that you cannot judge from the outside.

not pointing to rx7, these are all different bands playing the same genre. is it a trend or a coincidence that they all dress and look the same?

there's a 'dress code' for every genre and for some reason most people playing a certain genre feel obligated to dress in that manner. you can call it a trend, or a culture, but the same goes with punk rock, black metal, heavy metal, metalcore, indie, etc etc.
