How BIG is your amp at home?

Hi All,

Just out of a curiosity ... wondering how big is ur guitar amp at home? and do you actually crank up ur amp when playing/practicing at home? Any complaints from the neighbours?

I was a bit curious of ppl owning massive size amps for their home even when they're living in an hdb/condo ...

For me ... i'm using Orange Crush 15R, hardly crank it higher than half way. Feel sorry for my flatmates =P

30w, 10" speaker. A Vox AD30VT.

Its so perfect for the bedroom. I play pretty loud actually but I think my neighbours are quite tolerant. I don't play the so called "noisy" music, like hardcore or metal (no offence).

A good bedroom tube amp is currently not a priority.

I don't live in a HDB btw. So might be a difference context

mine is a humble 15w marshall mg15DFX in silver. :D planning to get a 30w amp though. but dont have much knowledge on amps. hahah

Roland Microcube.. :(

Guess the name should imply that its pretty compact eh?

And i hardly crank it up to full. Its surprising loud for its size, allthough being 2W and all..

I live in a HDB.

well if your not in an HDB, maybe in a condo then volume shouldn't be that big of a deal compared to living in an HDB, because the walls are thicker solid concrete.

Even if volume is still an issue, some amps have built in headphone jacks

NuX Might 15 here.Have NEVER cranked it up more than halfway as well!
My volume is always/most of the times @ 9.00 position or at most 10.

Edit:Woops, just realized TS' main point was actually size.Well my NuX is about the size of the average CPU unit, but as with all amps, more box-y than rectangular.

im using a 50 watter hybrid. have had several complaints, but the policemen on duty were metalheads as well, so in the end i made new friends

Almost everything you've stated is similar to what im going to say except the HDB part.

I have a 5 watt Blackstar HT-5.....love the little monster, can go loud.... currently i traded(temporarily) for a 40 watt Marshal DSL 401.....never crank that over "12 O'clock"

Vox AD50VT??

Eh that amp takes pedals very well, I know cos I'm a pedal dweeb! Hahaha GAS damn you GAS..

got a 120w head and 2x12 cab which never goes beyond 9 o'clock but mostly playing thru my blackstar ht5 combo now thru headphones. neighbours are ultra sensitive. they can prob hear me typing this now...

have a few 100 watts head, my neighbours probably hates me. I play pretty loud i guess.
but the master volume knob doesnt go over 9 oclock

I have a Marshall AVT 20, brilliant amp with pedals.

And I do crank the volume to 12 o clock.

So far I've got no complaints from my neighbors, considering that I stay in a HDB flat.

THD Univalve + 2 x 12 cab. Uasually in the afternoon when no one is around... I go full volume in the ROCK input when I'm in the mood to blast it without the built-in hot plate. It's fun.

cherm just play the music they like la aiya lol.

Marshall MSII limited edition red microstack modded by beez

Proud no.11/25!

hahah, eh i converted my mom to like our kinda music you know!

whats the difference between a stock microstack and the beez mod?
i remember he told me he put in orange drops lol!

Hahah ... interesting stories from everyone :)

i like ladyInTears story.

Unfortunately my neighbour is a young family with 2 toddlers ... i think they're ultra sensitive with "this kind of noise" hahahaha
