Horror Films

A few films I actually watched the remakes before the originals and when I watched the originals I liked the remakes better. I actually loved the Texas Chainsaw remake and prequel, and the Hills Have Eyes remake(sequel sucked bad though). I guess people in the 70s were just starting to get used to blood and gore to a whole new level after Night of the Living Dead, so these films still shocked them. But I think guys who are in their early 20s and younger will probably prefer the remakes. But good luck making a better Evil Dead(without Ash) or Child's Play or NOES. Those originals were just too good.

Don't know if any of you guys here have seen "Dead Set" before. It was quite crazy and gore too.

yea i watched dead set :) not bad at all haha kinda stupid how everything ended haha their fort was kinda a paradise if the girl didnt kill the zombie in the spa haha

I enjoyed the Hills have eyes remake, the one with the family, not the soldiers. Great blend of horror and action.
We already know how the remake of Evil Dead will turn out to be, dont we?
It would be hard to live up to the original's standard. You don't touch classics like that, period.

Recently watched and became my favourites:
Cannibal Holocaust (Classic)
Inside (France)
Let The Right One In (Sweden)

Btw,anyone collects horror DVDS?

I have Dead Snow, but just haven't had the chance to watch. Just been busy ah. If you like horror, check out this French movie called Frontier(s). It is a freaking insane Texas Chainsaw type film.

I collect horror divx movies in my com =)

Dude, cannibal holocaust? That is one sick movie.

Yeah, dude..the things do they do in the movie are despicable..rest assured this movie is not for everyone.

Trailer for Dead Snow looks good but I heard the plot is just mediocre?Nazi Zombies in the snow..cool concept tho..

dead alive is the shits!!! \m/ diary of the dead is interesting, theres this episode in fear itself abt zombies! AWESOME lah that series.

Finally! On page 10 (!!) did someone posted Cannibal Holocaust.

Dude, that's gotta be the most disturbing film for some time.. (Beautiful opening though.)

Most mentioned are interestingly Stephen King's. From The Shining to IT to Carrie to Cujo..

=&=

^I'm watching Green Mile now. Good film, but it's very similar to Shawshank Redemption in a few ways, which isn't bad at all(movie set during the Depression, Frank Darabont directed, inspired from Stephen King book, it's about prison life, characters innocent of their crimes sent to jail)

Avid fan of Stephen King, I am. Watched both shows (two of the King's highly acclaimed films).

Incidentally, the book (set of 4 novellas) whence Shawshank came from contained two other highly rated films - Stand By Me and Apt Pupil..

The actor who played Percy (of Shawshank) is suitably typecast as an evil-short-irritating prick. He even played a (similarly-hated) paedophile in CSI series. It could be his smirk.

snuff

Has anybody seen faces of death? I reckon that movie's a lot more brutal than cannibal holocaust

I believe the novella was called ... Different Seasons or something. And yeah, stand by me and apt pupil were good movies as well. I think King has the most number of books turned into good movies, other stuff include Dead Zone, Running Man(ok sorry I just like Arnie) and he wrote part of Creepshow, one of my favorite horror movies of all time.
