-Another question, is there anyway to change a humbucker of a HSS to single coil without leaving an awkward spacing or gap of a humbucker there? and Most importantly will there be any difference in the wiring and circuit to convert a humbucker to a single coil??
-One more, how do i check if a MIJ is a genuine one? and if any of the fender guitar is a genuine one (*in cases of purchasing from another person.)
ur best bet would be to use single-coil sized humbuckers (eg Seymour Duncan lil 59, JB-Jr, Dimarzio VV series for strats, Cruisers, Choppers). Not all guitars are Humbucker routed at the bridge. You could ask the shop whether they do, and see if they're willing to take off the pickguard to check the routing.
In any case if you want a full humbucker, you'll have to route humbucker cavity on the bridge, and change your pickguard (DIY, drilling existing pickguard not really recommended. A pickguard is likely to be cheaper than doing that anyway.) So single coil sized hums are probably your best bet.
If you're purchasing from another person, ask for the serial number of the guitar (for MIM, MIA strats) and the model of the guitar. For Jap, a bit hard to check... again look for serial number. For any guitar, check the headstock and see if it looks geninue.
If the seller has changed parts inside, it's unlikely u can find out (unless he's so willing to open up the guitar inside.) If he changed the body, you can't really tell unless u're pretty familiar with strats already. I would think it's a risk you have to take buying 2ndhand.
Most people don't go to the extent of changing to cheat people though, you should be fine checking the serial and the model specs.
