Help!!! Which guitar is better for metal???

Cavett: I found it rather painful >_<

Whitestrat: "Metalcore is an umbrella term used to describe fusion genres that incorporate elements of the hardcore punk and heavy metal genres." :)

No, this is noise.

"Hip hop music is a music genre typically consisting of a rhythmic vocal style called rap which is accompanied with backing beats."

*forcing musical taste on everyone else* :D

alright, u have a point here. some guitars have included features that helps in playing metal, which most people consider as:

fast riffs through the fretboard which needs smooth necks - satin, unfinished necks
playing on higher notes - 24 fret guitars.
accessibility in playing high notes - deep double cutaway
need more chugg in the distortion, easy harmonics - high output pickups
looks fierce - sharp pointy edges

just some, and depends on taste. these features helps in playing metal.

yes man, thats what im talking abou! and all people , i think I was just make up my mind, washburn X30!! coz in fact I playing punk rock too, and that guitar is good for all kinda music, metal, punk, ska, jazz.. and the price is pretty acceptable too , so yea I can have some money to buy some pedals too, great ideal isn't it? :D

and sorry again, for pedals, How is the Line 6 uber metal pedal ? or Boss Ms-2? which one is better for playing metalcore and better for working with washburn x ? and I just heard someone said if just using a pedal with washburn to amp , it will sounds terrible, can be good if just lined to amp, is that true? why?

hmm, duno bout that. bout the Line 6 Uber Metal, it sounds great. though i end up just using one type of setting only. i don't really like the other sounds you can get. but that's just my taste.

Wth does that even mean? Unless he was making a joke about how it sounds best when it isn't plugged in.

metalcore get the metalcore pedal Boss ML2:D

personal affordable recommendation: beta aivin hm200, $85 @ standardvalue. very versatile.

Haha. This pedal's popularity jumped and then waned. Don't know why but I guess it's the branding that puts people off. But I'd recommend this pedal because I own one and I can nail old Metallica to new Lamb of God tones, and even dial in a Blink 182 or Hinder tone too.

Oh, about the Line 6 Uber Metal.. I own one and it's on the shelf right now. Not a bad sounding pedal if you tweak it right, but my Beta Aivin HM-200 is far superior tonewise.

For Boss, I'd recommend both the Boss ML-2 Metal Core and the HM-2 Heavy Metal, though the latter might be very hard to find as it was discontinued quite a while back. (So was the ML-2, actually. Now it's the MT-2 Metalzone which I have heard in studio and personally wouldn't recommend).

Thing is, there're some really good high-gain distortion pedals out there, and they will come in useful if your amplifier isn't good at high-gain tones. My preferred set-up for metal, in fact, is a cleans-only amplifier with a high-gain distortion pedal.

THanx dude, so whats your best recommend? Boss ML-2 ? seriously I just need a pedal which can play the metal-core , or some Nu-metal, so do u think thats the best one ?

actually, the mt2 is a very good sounding pedal. not stock of course, the various mods out totally repackage the pedal, i know because i own one.
mine is modded by monte allums, which i find fantastic, more control with the EQ, and different gain modes. best of all, im selling it now!

Can someone tell whats the difference with washburn x30 and X50 ? just the pickups? is that humbuckers p.ups more better for metalcore?

Hifi182: I don't have much experience with the ML-2 though I've heard it and it sounds nice, but the Beta Aivin HM-200's my personal recommendation because it's much cheaper yet it sounds superb. The added versatility is there so if you want to try other genres, this pedal can do it too, yup, HM-200's my recommendation.

They are? I know they're American, but they're hardly catering to their local audience... Not when a majority of their tour is in Europe... Whole image is very european metal...

I only recently found out that they're American. I always thought they were Swedish, Norwegian or German!
